Bungie has disabled the Jötunn Exotic Fusion rifle in Destiny 2 Lightfall. Well, inside of the Crucible, in any case. I don’t think anyone would’ve predicted that out of everything that Lightfall could break – it would be this. All the same, there are some bugs, and now we have to deal with the consequences.
I’ll run you through why Bungie has disabled Jötunn inside of PvP in Destiny 2, but I can’t give you an ETA on a fix. Bungie is notorious for being slow to fix launch bugs like this – so temper your expectations.

Jötunn Has Been Disabled in Destiny 2
It wouldn’t be a Destiny 2 DLC launch without at least one Exotic getting disabled for one reason or the next. Thankfully, this time it’s an oldie – not one of the new Exotics like what happened when Bungie disabled Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk.
In a tweet put out by Bungie Help, it was confirmed that the Jötunn Exotic is indeed going away for a little while – only in Crucible, though. The one PvE player that uses Jötunn can still run their favorite toaster to their heart’s content.
Why was it only banned in PvP, though? Well, there’s a bug between how Jötunn and the new and improved Solar Scavenger mod interact. This mod gives you bonus reserves for Solar weapons when you pick up ammo. Fine, right?
Typically, yes. For Jötunn, though, this mod was giving players upwards of 10 shots per brick. If you’ve ever played against a Jötunn in the Crucible, you know it’s a pain to deal with. Now, imagine a full Fireteam of Jötunn-wielding Guardians, all with over 10 shots in their reserves. Yeah, not pretty.
Bungie has disabled Jötunn with no word of when the gun will be getting re-enabled. If Bungie’s track record is anything to go by, it might be back in the game by Season 22 – but who knows? Maybe they’ll surprise us with a fast fix.
