Dead Space – How to Replace the Damaged Tram

It wouldn't be a horror game without maintenance!

How convenient it is that, in times of extreme despair and fear, you will have to perform tech maintenance or other day-to-day tasks. All while you are dealing with undead space creatures. I mean, I get that the creatures, while arriving at our space station, will destroy a couple of things and disable some systems. But having to fix anything that is in our way? Well, I call that bad luck. And no, I’m not complaining because I’m scared. No, you are. Ok, maybe I am, but you get what I’m saying. Anyway, now that we are talking about fixing things, here is how to replace the damaged tram in Dead Space.

How to Replace the Damaged Tram

In order to replace the damaged tram, you will have to go to the Tram Repair Room. Follow the locator icon for it to guide the way. While doing that, you will find the legendary Stasis Module, conveniently located outside the Tram Station Hall door, that is opening and shutting down constantly. It is deadly, by the way. Shoot the door with the Stasis Module to freeze it in time and continue through the door.

Move forward while following the locator tracker and you will find the Tram Repair Station. Before doing anything, though, clear the room of all the Necromorphs that are located over there. We don’t want any surprises, my soul can only leave my body a number of times a day. Once you clear the room, try to activate the arms by interacting with the center console. Surprise! There are working arms (this is basically a pun you know, for a game whose main mechanic is dismemberment).

You guessed it, you are going to have to install the arms yourself. In a horror game, nothing is as easy as pressing a button. Go ahead and locate the arms. The two of them have a specific console that will activate them. However, they will immediately retract back to position. What you want to do is to activate one, use the Stasis Module to fix it on the tram, and run all the way to the other and activate. Once you do, return to the center console and effectively repair the tram.

And yes, you will find Necromorphs while trying to fix both arms. Prepare yourself to deal with them first, so you won’t get any interruptions. And when I say interruptions, I mean getting mauled and killed by them. This is life now, and you must treasure it by killing undead aliens that used to be your friends. Wonderful.
