As if the possible acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft hasn’t been crazy enough, it’s also recently been stated that Microsoft is seeking a 10-year agreement with Nintendo to bring the beloved fir-person shooter franchise, Call of Duty, back onto the company’s gaming platforms.
And though it would be great to drop into Warzone 2.0 or MW2 multiplayer on the go, the Switch really doesn’t seem to have the capability to handle it. But a title that could work is Call of Duty: Mobile. So if an agreement between the companies would be made, then could Call of Duty: Mobile be coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2023?
Could Call of Duty: Mobile be Coming to Nintendo Switch in 2023?
When talking about current Call of Duty titles that would fit the Nintendo Switch’s power and eco-system, the best is most definitely Call of Duty: Mobile. It isn’t a heavily demanding game, as most folks just play it from their phones.
The Switch may be getting up there in age, but this isn’t a stretch by any means. And that free-to-play model would work great for the Switch seeing as you can take it anywhere, just like all of the other devices that can run COD: Mobile.
It would also be great to actually play this game with optimized controls too, as playing even an Xbox controller can be a bit cumbersome. If this contract were to happen, then COD: Mobile would definitely be coming to the Switch in 2023.
Could Warzone Mobile be Coming to Nintendo Switch in 2023
Another mobile Call of Duty title coming out in 2023 is Warzone: Mobile. Though not much has been shown of this game if it isn’t too demanding it could also work perfectly on the Switch for the same reasons as COD: Mobile.
In fact, with a bigger screen such as on the OLED model, this game would be fantastic as opposed to a smartphone. If the contract were to go through, then this would be hitting the Switch. Maybe not at release, but shortly thereafter. I’d even settle for Call of Duty: Caldera too if not.

Could a Mainline like Modern Warfare 2 Work on the Nintendo Switch?
In all honesty, while I’d like to say that a mainline title could make it to the Switch, I think it would be a long shot. The Switch just isn’t powerful enough to handle it, and most developers these days don’t outsource for ports the same way as how Call of Duty games used to come to the Wii or the DS.
What I could see happening is the devs bringing standalone titles developed specifically for the Switch, similar to the PS Vita’s Call of Duty: Black Ops – Declassified. Another route to could go for the Switch is if Activision came out with Switch ports of some of the other Modern Warfare and Black Ops games. The classics would fit right at home on the Switch.
Well, those are all of our thoughts on Call of Duty’s potential on the Nintendo Switch, and if Call of Duty: Mobile, specifically, is coming to the console.
