Typically, in any given JRPG, there are scores upon scores of generic monsters for you to cleave your way through in pursuit of fame, riches, and all that jazz. This is why, when you encounter a monster that is entirely unique from its contemporaries, you know it has to be hiding something worthwhile. Here are all the strengths and weaknesses of the unique monsters in Chained Echoes.
Chained Echoes Unique Monster Guide – All Strengths and Weaknesses
Throughout the main story and overworld of Chained Echoes, there are a variety of aptly-named Unique Monsters. These monsters may bear a passing resemblance to some of the game’s other critters, but appearance is the only thing they have in common. They have their own names, abilities, stats, and perhaps most importantly, strengths and weaknesses. Knowing these strengths and weaknesses ahead of time will go a long way in ensuring your victory over them.

Good heavens, that’s a lot of yak. Can you imagine how bad this thing smells?

A small, fast frog doesn’t seem that scary until it starts lunging at you with razor-sharp claws.

Be you worthy to draw the sword from the turtle? Probably not, so let’s just take it the hard way.

Golden Borb Bob
It’s kind of a fantasy rule of thumb that things that hatch out of golden eggs are almost always jerks.
- Strengths: Wind
- Weaknesses: Light
Aurora the Sky Dragon
You know you’ve met a dragon you shouldn’t mess with when it has a first name. This ain’t just any Sky Dragon, this is Aurora, and you’d better recognize.

Senior Tadeye
I can’t tell if this is a pun or not, I’m distracted by the entirely-too-many eyes on this thing’s face.

Bog the Real Gob
I’ve watched enough anime to know that a goblin wearing a fancy hat isn’t something to be underestimated.
- Strengths: Wind
- Weaknesses: Earth
If you can defeat every Unique Monster in the game, you’ll receive the “Endangered Species” achievement. Don’t feel bad, these things weren’t doing much for the ecosystem.
