Chained Echoes Unique Monster Guide – All Strengths and Weaknesses

Throughout the main story and overworld of Chained Echoes, there are a variety of aptly-named Unique Monsters. These monsters may bear a passing resemblance to some of the game’s other critters, but appearance is the only thing they have in common. They have their own names, abilities, stats, and perhaps most importantly, strengths and weaknesses. Knowing these strengths and weaknesses ahead of time will go a long way in ensuring your victory over them.

Mimic

No, we’re not just beating up houses now, it’s a monster that looks like a house.

  • Strengths: Wind
  • Weaknesses: Earth

Tak the Yak

Good heavens, that’s a lot of yak. Can you imagine how bad this thing smells?

  • Strengths: None
  • Weaknesses: None

Leaping the Frog

A small, fast frog doesn’t seem that scary until it starts lunging at you with razor-sharp claws.

  • Strengths: Wind
  • Weaknesses: Earth

Ekskalibur

Be you worthy to draw the sword from the turtle? Probably not, so let’s just take it the hard way.

  • Strengths: Earth
  • Weaknesses: Water

Dwelly of the Valley

How do you fight a giant valley dragon? With a giant mech suit, of course!

  • Strengths: Wind
  • Weaknesses: Earth

Arthros

“Is it behind the rabbit?” “No, it is the rabbit!”

  • Strengths: Fire
  • Weaknesses: Water

Gol D. Waterfly

Thankfully, you won’t need to search the entire world to find this guy’s treasure.

  • Strengths: Fire
  • Weaknesses: Water

Da Capo

There’s a joke about Italian music I could make about this mushroom somewhere, but I haven’t thought of it.

  • Strengths: Water
  • Weaknesses: Fire

Humphry the Hungry

You know, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a depiction of a giant sandworm that I liked, and Humphry is no exception.

  • Strengths: Earth
  • Weaknesses: Light

Otter Nobunaga

Remarkably, this is not the worst Nobunaga pun I’ve ever heard.

  • Strengths: Water
  • Weaknesses: None

Hairy Otter

This might be the worst Harry Potter pun I’ve ever heard, though.

  • Strengths: Light
  • Weaknesses: Darkness

Golden Borb Bob

It’s kind of a fantasy rule of thumb that things that hatch out of golden eggs are almost always jerks.

  • Strengths: Wind
  • Weaknesses: Light

Aurora the Sky Dragon

You know you’ve met a dragon you shouldn’t mess with when it has a first name. This ain’t just any Sky Dragon, this is Aurora, and you’d better recognize.

  • Strengths: Dark
  • Weaknesses: None

Senior Tadeye

I can’t tell if this is a pun or not, I’m distracted by the entirely-too-many eyes on this thing’s face.

  • Strengths: Wind
  • Weaknesses: Earth

Bog the Real Gob

I’ve watched enough anime to know that a goblin wearing a fancy hat isn’t something to be underestimated.

  • Strengths: Wind
  • Weaknesses: Earth

If you can defeat every Unique Monster in the game, you’ll receive the “Endangered Species” achievement. Don’t feel bad, these things weren’t doing much for the ecosystem.
