Can You Save Evelyn Parker in Cyberpunk 2077?

The unfortunate thing about being a mercenary in a morally-loose place like Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City is that your general proximity to the concept of death is much closer than others. That’s life as a hired gun, I suppose, but it does still sting when that proximity reaches point blank, even if it’s not yours. If that little philosophical trip didn’t serve as a preemptive warning sign, then let me answer whether or not you can save Evelyn Parker in Cyberpunk 2077.

Life Ain’t Always So Kind

During the course of Cyberpunk 2077’s main story quests, you’ll be tasked with tracking down Evelyn Parker, the lady who contracted you into stealing the biochip from Yorinobu Arasaka in the game’s first act. Considering the state of the chip in your head, you definitely have a vested interest in tracking her down and questioning her, but when you speak with her friend Judy, you’ll discover she’s missing in action.

After a bit of detective work, you’ll find her location, and you’ll storm a Scav hideout along with Judy to rescue her. Sadly, Evelyn has been forced to endure some truly inhumane circumstances. You’ll bring her to Judy’s apartment and get some information from a braindance she had saved, but the lady herself is unconscious. After you leave and progress some more through the story, you’ll receive a call from Judy with some sad news: Evelyn has killed herself.

Can You Save Evelyn Parker in Cyberpunk 2077?

To get the point here, no, you cannot prevent Evelyn from taking her life. It’s unfortunate, but her death is a hard-coded story event, and it will happen no matter how you approach the choices leading up to it. But, if it makes you feel better, Judy will send you some jobs to enact some proper revenge on the people who forced Evelyn into that horrible situation. There’s no notable reward for these beyond the knowledge that you made some truly awful human beings pay for their crimes.

After finishing these jobs, you’ll get one last message from Judy telling you that she’s buried Evelyn at the Columbarium in Westbrook. You can find her grave at the back of the plot to pay your respects if you so choose.
