Can You Catch Version Exclusive Pokémon in Multiplayer Co-Op in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

Like with previous Pokémon games, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet both have awesome version-exclusive Pokémon. Unlike with previous Pokémon games, however, you don’t have to trade with other players to get all of the generation’s Pokémon! You can now catch version exclusive Pokémon in multiplayer co-op in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

If you join the world of a player who has the opposite game as you, you will be able to catch all of the exclusive Pokémon of that version! For example, if someone with Pokémon Scarlet joined the world of someone who has Pokémon Violet, they would be able to catch Violet-exclusive Pokémon such as Eiscue and Misdreavus.

Although you can still trade to get version exclusive Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, it’s much easier and more efficient to simply catch them yourself in a multiplayer world. Traded Pokémon can be a hassle since they cannot be renamed and have a tendency to disobey their trainers; thankfully, you’ll never have to deal with the obstacles of traded Pokémon ever again in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet!
