Call of Duty Modern Warfare Season 5 Multiplayer Changes

To start things off, let’s take a look at the new multiplayer maps. We have four new maps, which are as follows:

  • Verdansk International Airport: Ground War
  • Livestock: Gunfight
  • Petrov Oil Rig: 6v6 map
  • Suldal Harbor: 6v6 map

There are also fresh playlists with the new update. Here’s what they are now:

  • 12v12 Search and Destroy
    • Similar to Ground War Search and Destroy, but with a total of twenty-four players for twice as much action.
  • Quick Play
  • Ground War
  • Gunfight Blueprints
  • Oil Rig & Harbor 24/7
  • Face Off – Livestock

New Weapons

With season five’s brand new Battle Pass, there are 100 new levels of cosmetics to grind through.

  • ISO Submachine Gun (APC-9): Tier 15
  • AN-94 Assault Rifle: Tier 31

You can choose from the base Battle Pass for 1,000 CoD points or the premium pass for 2,400 CoD Points for an instant 20 tier skips. Players can earn CoD points rewards throughout the tiers, so the base version of the Battle Pass pays for itself if you reach the max.

Warzone Map Changes

There are plenty of new changes to the Warzone map for the first time since launch. Most notably, the roof of the stadium is now gone, blown to smithereens. Players can now drop-in, explore, and loot the stadium from above. Considering the changes, it’s a hot landing zone right now.

Next up, the Train Station area got some new changes which spice it up a bit. There is now a new interior where you can go in and engage. While not as big as the stadium change, it’s still a new area to explore.

Players will also notice a train running through the map. It contains a lot of loot and ammo boxes, and also provides a quick way to get across the map.

Warzone Playlists

Here’s a look at the current season five playlists:

  • Battle Royale Quads, Trios, Duos
  • Battle Royal Buy Back Solos
  • Mini Royale: Warzone with fewer players in condensed Verdansk
  • Plunder: Blood Money

Lastly, there are thirteen new mastery challenges, which include things like getting 100 victories. You can head into the challenges section in the game to check it out.

A plethora of other changes to the back-end is also in the new update. You can view a full changelog here.
