In Planet Crafter, there are dozens of resources to collect and even more buildings to construct. Terraforming a planet won’t happen without first constructing an epic base. Your buildings will start out simple but grow in complexity quickly. But how do you even lay down the first building? Don’t worry; we are here to help. Here is how you start building in Planet Crafter.
How to Start Building in Planet Crafter
To start expanding your settlement in Planet Crafter, you will first need to build a “Microchip – Construction.” This is an equipable item that will allow you to bring up the build menu.
The construction microchip will require two silicon and two magnesium. Both of these resources are easily found in the starting area among the rest of the resources. If you’re having trouble finding them, refer to our guide here.
Once you have your silicon and magnesium, head back to the crafting bench in your crashed lander. Craft the construction microchip and hit TAB to bring up your inventory. Drag the newly minted microchip to one of your free gear slots.
Now that the proper microchip is installed, you can hit “B” to bring up the build menu. If you have all of the necessary resources, you will be able to click and place a building down where you desire. The first building you will need to put down is the “Living Compartment, ” requiring two iron and one titanium.
How Do I Remove a Building?
The construction microchip alone will not allow you to remove a building once placed. For that, you will need to craft a deconstruction microchip. This microchip will only require one silicon and one magnesium. You need to put this new microchip into a gear slot to use it.
Once the deconstruction microchip is equipped, you can use your mouse wheel to cycle through your tools until the deconstruction icon appears. Next, you simply walk up to the item you want to destroy and click.
That’s all there is to building in Planet Crafter. Remember, you can rotate your building with the mouse wheel before placing them down. Check out our Planet Crafter section if you need more info on Planet Crafter.
