Best Warzone Guns After DMR Nerf 2.0

Best Warzone Guns After DMR Nerf 2.0

The DMR received yet another nerf this week in Call of Duty‘s popular Warzone battle royale mode. It was a weapon plaguing the battlefield, and it seemed that nearly everyone had one in their loadout. A high damage output, fire rate, and time-to-kill made it a problematic gun to escape from, and last week’s update didn’t do much in the way of fixing anything. This post will look at what changed in this patch and provide some options for the best Warzone guns after the DMR nerf.

Warzone‘s newest update reclassifies the bullet penetration of the DMR from sniper to AR. Damage falloff ranges decreased from 55 damage to 48 after 750 units instead of 2500 units. Additionally, the DMR now has higher recoil for the second and third bullets and a slight increase for subsequent shots. Damage multipliers are also adjusted, where headshots deal less than 100 damage after at a distance over 750 units, and lower torso multipliers get an 8% reduction.

The DMR isn’t the only nerf, though, as Type 63 receives similar treatment. Again, bullet penetration changes from sniper to AR. Damage falloff is also more significant now, decreasing from 60 to 45 damage after 900 units (down 55% from 2000 units).

Best Warzone Guns After DMR Nerf

After the second round of nerfs, the question is: what are the best Warzone guns? First, it’s important to note that the DMR is still a viable weapon. The goal of the nerf is to make the guns balanced, not useless. However, everyone is now looking for the next best thing, and here are a few solid weapon options for the current meta:

  • AUG
  • AMAX
  • Mac-10

AUG

One good option that could prove useful in the current meta is the AUG. A few definite pros for the AUG are a tight recoil pattern and little to no damage dropoff. It always does about 40 damage to the limbs, torso, and other areas regardless of distance. The shots to kill is around six to seven, depending on the number of headshots. With no headshots whatsoever, you’ll be looking at seven shots to kill. In other words, it will take you about two bursts to down someone, which translates to half a second or less.

The best AUG loadout in Warzone right now is as follows:

  • Visiontech 2x or Axial Arms 3x
  • SOCOM Eliminator or Agency Silencer: vertical recoil
  • 17″ Titanium: faster fire rate and bullet velocity
  • Field Agent Foregrip: recoil control
  • 45 Round Speed Mag: more ammo, faster reload

AMAX

One weapon that will likely gain a lot of popularity is the AMAX. It’s a high damage weapon with some high recoil, but it is easily one of the best weapons in the current meta. It turns out to have a better time to kill than the Kilo 141. You won’t have any problem downing enemies at mid to long-range.

The best AMAX loadout in Warzone right now is as follows:

  • Monolithic Suppressor
  • XRK Zodiac S440
  • Commando Foregrip
  • 45 Round Mags
  • VLK 3.0x Optic

Mac-10

The reigning champion of secondary weapons remains the Mac-10. Its rate of fire and time to kill is still unmatched, so it’s still definitely a viable gun to toss in your loadout. You may want to try out the Gallantry, as some players prefer those iron sights over the default Mac-10. Despite the fact that this blueprint’s stats have been updated, it’s still all-around solid.

The best Mac-10 loadout in Warzone right now is as follows:

  • Agency Suppressor
  • 5.9″ Task Force
  • Striker Grip or Foregrip
  • STANAG 53 Rnd Drum
  • Serpent Wrap
