Selecting your school depends mostly on what type of player you are usually in other RPG games. Damage? Defense? Spells? Well, you get to decide. Take the below list as reference only. Be sure to read all the information collected in this article. I’m sure you will get to make the right choice for your character. This game is all about decisions, so picking your school must not be taken lightly. Here is the ranked list of the best schools in Wizard101.
- Fire School: fire school students, also called the Pyromancers, belong to a school that is regarded as one of, if not the most powerful school of all. Students are very passionate, smart and can get angry very easily. I think I attended this school without knowing it. While their spell abilities are not very strong at the beginning, they have an incredible amount of potential, dealing huge amounts of damage when matured.
- Ice School: possessing the highest health points and natural defenses, the Thaumaturges belonging to the Ice School are masters of summoning ice creatures that will serve them in the most faithful way. Embrace the power of the ice!
- Storm School: student belonging to the Storm School will be able to deal a lot of damage from the beginning, but they lack a good amount of accuracy due to their almost exclusive focus on damage output. That happens with their health points as well. Critical damage and spell removal is what ultimately will be the main focus of the Storm School.
- Death School: the Death School students possess the most complex spells out of all the other schools, or in the game in general. Combining swords and traps thanks to their spell combination specialty is what makes a great Death School mage. The only downside is that, despite them knowing great spells, they won’t be able to learn a single one that will benefit all players in your party.
- Myth School: just like the Ice mages, the Myth School teaches students to summon servants. They will be able to summon a lot of different types of servants that will excel in several types of roles. The downside is that their damage output is mediocre, alongside with their spell accuracy. However, their spells excel at empowerment, healing and minion protection.
- Balance School: being a team player is what Balance School students are all about. They possess a great amount of resistance to all effects, and focus on healing and empower all players in your party as well as themselves.
- Star School: Star School students, also called auras, will be able to boost the stats of your party, but they are quite vulnerable and will only be able to last for four rounds. They look cool, though! Don’t get me wrong, they can be useful, but don’t get too invested, they can definitely be better.
- Life School: Theurgists, that is, Life School students, have a lot of good intentions and will be able to create new things thanks to the song of creation, being able to bring them to life. However, when circumstances are of great stress, then they will be reckless. Medium level spells, but very high accuracy.
- Sun School: Sun School students will be able to boost their damage output and their spell enchantments. On top of that, they will get to use them immediately without waiting. Other than that, they don’t serve for nothing else really, but they could be useful if you possess high level wizards.
- Shadow School: an end-game school, it can be very helpful in battles in Khrysalis and Polaris, but are often neglected for the rest of the game.
