Best Quarterbacks in Madden NFL 23

Looking for an elite QB to take you to the promised land? Check out our list below

It’s no secret that a football team will only go as far as their starting quarterback can take them, and that’s especially the case in Madden NFL 23. Last year’s Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams had Matthew Stafford at the helm, the 2021 Tampa Bay Buccaneers had Tom Brady and the 2020 Kansas City Chiefs had Patrick Mahomes. All of whom will go down as Hall of Famers when the time comes. Obviously, we can go back even further than that but I think you get the picture by now.

Being that this is the most important position in the game, it’s time to break down some of the best quarterbacks in Madden NFL 23.

Best Quarterbacks in Madden NFL 23

We’ve already touched on the top quarterback ratings and rankings in Madden NFL 23. So, the following list of QBs takes into account various other statistics outside of just the player’s overall rating. Such as their throw power (THP), throw under pressure (TUP), play action (PAC), throw on the run (RUN) as well as their short (SAC), medium (MAC) and deep (DAC) accuracy ratings.

Taking this into account, these are the best all-around quarterbacks in Madden NFL 23:

1) Aaron Rodgers (96), Green Bay Packers

Despite having a lower awareness rating and being rated worse in short, medium and deep passing accuracy compared to Tom Brady. Aaron Rodgers has the second-highest throw on the run rating (96) and the highest throw under pressure rating (97) in the game. He’s also a lot more agile than Brady and ranks in the top 10 in every major statistical category.

2) Tom Brady (97), Tom Brady Buccaneers

Brady is probably the best pocket passer in Madden NFL 23 but he could struggle in the game if he gets pressured. Particularly with a measly 71 speed, 70 agility, 86 throw under pressure and 83 throw on the run rating. All of which rank outside of the top 10 amongst NFL QBs. That being said, he still holds the top spot in short (99), and deep (95) pass accuracy. He’s also first in play action pass (99) and has the highest awareness rating in the game (99).

3) Patrick Mahomes (95), Kansas City Chiefs

Mahomes lands third on our list as arguably the most well-rounded quarterback in the game. Not only does he rank in the top 10 in every major statistical category. Including awareness (91), throw power (97), break sack (89), throw under pressure (95) and play action rating (96). But he also ranks first in throw on the run (98) and lands in the top five for short (95) and medium pass accuracy (91). He can also easily evade pressure thanks to his 84 speed and 88 agility.

4) Josh Allen (92), Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen falls to four but remains the best dual-threat QB in Madden NFL 23. He’s got the best throw power rating in game at 99 and still ranks in the top 5 in speed (89), strength (76), awareness (96), break sack (95), throw under pressure (91), and throw on the run ability (95). He’s also got the second-highest ball-carrier vision amongst QBs (95). The one problem is that he ranks outside of the top 5 in short (89), medium (87) and deep throw accuracy (88).

5) Justin Herbert (88), Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert ranks lower than Burrow and Prescott in short (91) and medium throw accuracy (86) as well as throw under pressure (87). However, he’s on par with both when it comes to his throw on the run (90) and play action rating (88). He’s also got an exceptional throw power rating (96), which is higher than Burrow and Prescott who are each rated higher than Herbert. The Chargers QB also has a better speed (84) and acceleration (87) rating.

6) Lamar Jackson (87), Baltimore Ravens

While perhaps not as accurate as Herbert, Burrow or Prescott, all of whom rank higher than him (at least in Madden NFL 23). Lamar Jackson is perhaps the most deadly dual-threat QB in football due to his insane speed (96), acceleration (96), agility (95), ball carrier vision (96), and break sack (94) ability. All of which rate near the top amongst QBs and even higher than a lot of skill position players. He also has a 92 throw power rating, a 97 play action rating and a 91 throw on the run rating.

7) Joe Burrow (90), Cincinnati Bengals

Next up we’ve got Joe Burrow, who’s potentially the most accurate QB in the game outside of Tom Brady. While his athletic traits aren’t nearly as impressive as some of the names previously mentioned. The Bengals franchise quarterback has the second-best short accuracy rating (96) and the best medium accuracy rating (97) in the entire game. He also has a solid 87 throw power rating, throw on the run rating (89), and throw under pressure rating (92).

8) Dak Prescott (89), Dallas Cowboys

Dak Prescott technically ranks higher than both Jackson and Herbert, but his physical attributes are far worse. In fact, his speed (82), acceleration (82), agility (83), and throw power (89) all fall outside of the top 10 amongst quarterbacks. Although, he still ranks near the top when it comes to short (91), medium (90) and deep throw accuracy (92) as well as his throw on the run (90), play action (90) and throw under pressure rating (93).

9) Russell Wilson (87), Denver Broncos

Russell Wilson is another player with strong all-around stats just nothing that jumps off the page. His short (88), medium (88) and deep pass accuracy (94) all rank high amongst QBs in Madden NFL 23. As does his throw on the run (93) and play action rating (94). He’s also got an 85 speed, 90 acceleration and 91 agility rating, making him yet another solid dual-threat option. The issue is that he’s got just a 59 strength rating, an 81 awareness rating and a very average 86 throw under pressure rating.

10) Matthew Stafford (85), Los Angeles Lakers

Rounding out our top 10 we’ve got Matthew Stafford. Who has the fourth-highest throw power rating (95) and incredible overall stats. With an above-average short (90), medium (83) and deep pass accuracy (88). To go along with impressive throw on the run (86), play action (86) and awareness ratings (88). Obviously, his biggest issue is his speed (75), acceleration (65) and break sack ability (78), which means that he won’t be much more than a pocket passer in Madden NFL 23.
