How to Choose the Best Pet for Your Class in Ragnarok Origin?

There are 6 classes in Ragnarok Origin and we will go through the best choice for each one. Keep in mind that Ragnarok Origin is a game that is getting regular updates so some of these pets might get nerfed or maybe even some newer and better ones get introduced to the game. We will keep our article updated but for now, this is what we believe are the best choices for each class.

Note: Each class has two evolution lines into the 2nd and 3rd job (subclasses) so we will give our recommendation for the best pet for each subclass.

Best Pet for Swordsman

When you play the Knight>Lord Knight line you know you are handling a tank class focused on damage so we advise you to improve that damage and choose the pet Dunell that can advance your AoE damage capabilities. He has a huge AoE fire magic spell called Elemental Breath that will help you immensely in farming. This spell also slows down the attack speed and movement speed of the target so it can be used as a disable for some stronger enemies whose attacks you need to dodge.

When going for the Crusader>Paladin evolution line you are building a tank that can sustain heavy damage. The best pet to assist you in surviving for a long time while your team dashes out heavy blows is Earth Lord. His skill Super Gravity Field allows him to taunt nearby enemies that are then drawn to him with a reduced movement speed. In that moment Earth Lord also provides with 60% damage reduction for 5 seconds, helping you become even more tankier in the face of mobs.

Best Pet for Acolyte

When you evolve Acolyte into Priest>High Priest you get powerful support that buffs allies and debuffs enemies. This spellcaster would benefit the most from the pet Milly and her exclusive skill called Acorn Healing which heals 4 nearby allies for 40% of your Max HP. Besides it being a great survivability spell, it also reduces the casting time of your allies’ next skill by 15%.

For the Monk>Champion subclasses, we suggest taking Volcanic Bulldog. His special skill Flame Shield will allow you to uninterruptedly perform your crushing combos. It gives you an absorbing shield that soaks up damage equal to 20% of your Max HP, increases your status resistances by 50%, and after it absorbed the damage it explodes for 600% Fire Damage to nearby enemies. Ideal for in-your-face class such as Monk>Champion.

Best Pet for Archer

When going for a Hunter>Sniper build you need a pet that scales well with physical damage attackers. The ideal solution here is Baphomet Jr. who has Physical damage as one of his default attributes and Sonic Blow as his special skill. Sonic Blow can deliver an 8-combo attack to a single target for 900% Neutral Physical damage and have a chance of stunning them as well. The low 10-sec cd and the cost of just 10 SP puts him in a great spot to support characters that go for Hunter>Sniper build.

When it comes to Bard>Minstrel and Dancer>Diva these two classes are pretty similar so they can benefit the most from the same pet. Since these classes revolve around attacking and boosting/saving allies in various ways we found that King Pig can be the perfect pet choice here. It has an exclusive skill called Resurrection that allows him to dive in, tank a bunch of damage and after receiving the fatal blow become invincible for 3 seconds and come back with 40% HP. Both Dancer>Diva and Bard>Minstrel builds have Song of Return skill that allows them to revive an ally which can come pretty handy with King Pig in your party. In perspective, if you’re playing solo and King Pig is your main tank, you can have him revived for the 2nd time and keep the momentum of the battle going.

Best Pet for Mage

When you play Mage’s Wizard>High Wizard build you will be focusing a lot of your attention on damage, and having in mind that fire is one of the most popular elements in the game currently you will be looking to build around that both with your skill build and with your pet. Meteor Storm is one spell that many Wizards orient towards, so it is only natural to pick the pet with the same spell – Fire Spirit. However, Fire Spirit’s Meteor Storm functions a bit differently than your own in that it calls down 4 meteors that deal 125% damage and cause the target to take 20% more Fire Damage afterward. This creates a perfect setup in which you can nuke the same target with more Fire Damage spells, bosses included.

In case you are a Sage>Scholar fan we suggest picking Milly. Her Acorn Healing can heal up to 4 targets and is always welcoming but the more important aspect is the 15% reduced casting time for the first spell you use which can really make a difference for some heavy spellcasters such as Sage>Scholar.

Best Pet for Thief

The most popular Thieves are definitely Assassin>Assassin Cross. This line of build evolution focuses on Physical Damage so your best bet here would be to use Squidgitte. Squidgitte’s exclusive skill gives a 15% damage buff for 10 seconds. What’s even better is that it scales great and gets +5% buff potency on both Tier 5 and Tier 10.

When you go for Rogue>Stalker build things are quite similar. This disabler-type character relies on backstabbing so we suggest Desert Otter. The Desert Otter has a special skill called AGI Blast that allows him to deal 208% of Neutral Physical Damage + 10% of Neutral Physical Damage for every 75 points of AGI you have. Since Rogue>Stalker is a fighter class that needs to boost AGI this pet seems like a perfect solution.

Best Pet for Merchant

The Alchemist/Biochemist build is created for buffing yourself and allies and weakening your enemies so your best choice for a pet here would be the Divination Cat. Divination Cat uses Battle Blessing, a skill that deals 800% Physical Damage to the enemies while having a 30% chance of giving you a random buff. This additional boosting you can provide for yourself can provide you with either an attack speed buff, Physical Attack buff, Magical Attack buff, Crit Damage buff, or Crit chance buff. When you get Divination Cat to Tier 10 the chance for getting these buffs will raise to 90% meaning that you will get one buff almost every time your pet casts this spell.

Blacksmith/Mastersmith build will give you an opportunity to maneuver around different weapons and really focus on your damage. For that reason, this skill build lacks any serious survivability so we would say the best pet to help you is going to be the Child of Earth with his special skill that allows him to jump in and save you Secret Service style. The Behind Me skill, as it’s called, redirects all damage meant for you to Child of Earth for 10 seconds. But, the skill will also cause him to take 50% extra damage so be careful only to use it when you think your character’s life is in danger.
