We’re going to outline a few things before we dive straight into this build. For one, BG3 has a plethora of unskippable combat encounters. Meaning, even if you want to be the most pragmatic character, you’ll still have to get your hands dirty every now and then. It should also be said that players are missing out on a decent amount of XP by talking your way out of fights. While not fighting is the basis of the build, you will be at a hinderance, especially as you progress further. But if you read all of this and still want to go along with this, let’s see what you’ll need to start out.

There are ways to make sure that even if you do enter combat, you deal the least amount of damage. For this route, you’ll want to go ahead and run a Halfling Warlock with a focus on Charisma and Dexterity. Invisibility is a must to help sneak through any dangerous areas, as well as making sure if you do enter combat, other characters will be taking/dealing damage. Aside from this, throw on a Guild Artisan background with proficiencies in Stealth, Investigation, and Deception. Since there are certain limitations to the build and therefore playthrough, you might want to tweak some things down the progression road. But for the most part, you can take your happy Halfling, and have a logical and nice conversation with the people of Baldur’s Gate.
