Once we checked out building a home for ourselves in Minecraft off the list, we often turn ourselves to villagers. Building a home for them can provide us with a wide variety of benefits. From building blocks to diamond tools and armor, villagers are must-haves when playing Minecraft.
But designing a house for them can also be a whole other challenge in itself. So for your convenience, here are some of the best Minecraft villager house ideas you can use.
Designs and ideas
Nordic Valhalla
A stone and wooden old Nordic house design really gives off a cool and cozy vibe and adding this to your villager house design can really bring about a real old village sight, especially with shaders on.
Using spruce or dark oak woods and cobblestone, this design can be built easily and cheaply if you want to save up time and materials without sacrificing quality for your villager’s best interest.
One building apartment
If building multiple houses is not your thing, then a one-building apartment can be the best option for you. Whether you like all your villagers sleeping and working at the same place, this can be a big help to save up space, materials, and time.
With this design, you can easily make use of a small space for villager trading. You can make two separate buildings, one for your villagers’ workstations and one for villagers to go home too and sleep during the night.
Modern houses
If you don’t fancy the common Victorian or medieval style of housing, maybe creating an entire suburban neighborhood is just what you need. A lot of modern house design tutorials for Minecraft are out there and with only a few lawn sprucing you can make a great home for your villagers.
Don’t put in too much gap per house though or your villagers will scramble around not knowing how to get to their work stations or back to their houses. A simple hack for this is to simply have them work from home by putting their work stations in their own houses.
Ancient ruins
There is a unique vibe that old run down houses give off and it can be good if you add a touch of life into it. By building ruined stone houses and putting in villagers and adding a sprinkle of life to the old ruins creates a scene straight out of a movie.
Having your villagers look like they have just inhabited an old abandoned house or village tells a story alongside having a cool looking place to put your growing number of villagers.
Ships on the sea
If the sea is where your heart belongs or if you just made an underwater base and want villagers near you, then why not build a large ship filled with villagers ready to trade with you whenever you resurface.
Not content with one ship? Then build multiple ships and have them interconnected, creating a pirate society right in the middle of the ocean.

Tree houses
Fan of tall trees and high places? Then a good tree house for your villagers can indeed be something you will love. Building houses on trees or the side of them can spring up so many designs in your mind, from elvish themes to fantasy like homes, you can indeed find many uses for a perfectly designed tree house.
The best part about this is that you can either build one enormous tree with built-in houses for your villagers, or build multiple interconnected tree houses that are placed high above for security and eye candy.
Prison
A great space saver, material saver, and time saver. Being able to only build one large major building to dump multiple villagers at once is a great thing to have if your main focus is convenience. Having prison cells for you villagers and giving them only what they need like a bed and their workstation can save you the headache of building grand and luxurious houses for each villager.
Though this may not exactly be comfortable looking for the villagers, it does help provide them with maximum security and it will be easy to find the right villager you’d want to trade with.
