Best Mage Build in Brotato

You are a wizard, spud.

Mage is one of the trickier characters to play in Brotato but also one of the most popular ones. I honestly don’t know whether the love toward Mage comes from RPG games where people are more excited by the spellcasters than your usual warrior characters that just slam people in the face with an axe, or if there’s something else there.

How to Play Mage in Brotato?

The build advice I’m going to give in this article can be used for danger level 5 so it means that you can use it on lower levels as well. The first thing you should know is what stats to go for when playing with Mage.

As you probably know the Mage starts with 1 Snake, 1 Scared Sausage, and +33 to Elemental Damage modifications. On the other hand, he gets a 100% reduction to his Melee and Ranged damage modifications as well as to his Engineering.

Stats to Get For Mage

The stats you should go for with Mage are:

  • Elemental Damage
  • Attack Speed
  • Range
  • Damage %
  • Harvesting
  • HP Regen
  • Max HP
  • Dodge/Armor (your choice)

Elemental damage is your basic stat and you should boost it as much as you can alongside Damage % that will further buff it. To complement that, go for the Attack Speed stat since you will be relying on a lot of burning damage that will need to be applied as fast as possible to enemies around you.

Harvesting is another key stat that you’ll need since Mages aren’t that good at clearing enemies and diving in to collect their hard-earned materials. Your heal will rely on HP Regen since its alternative, Lifesteal, can’t really apply to a Mage that will be using slow attacking weapons and will rely on secondary damage sources like burning damage.

The classic defensive stats like Max HP and Dodge or Armor are needed for every character in the game but we added them here so you won’t forget these vital but often skipped stats.

Items for Mage

When it comes to items, the first thing you should do is take items that boost the stats mentioned above and really make a solid and strong Mage. When other benefits are concerned, I would say that you shouldn’t skip any Scared Sausages and Snakes since piling them up can just increase your alien-clearing capabilities.

Eyes Surgery will be another one of your best friends since it gives your burning the ability to activate 10% faster. Get the Incendiary Turret when offered since even though its damage is based on Engineering, it still burns enemies so your Snake bonuses will apply and spread that burning around.

You can also think about piercing, so items like Sharp Bullet, Bandana, and Pumpkin can really buff up your damage. However, keep in mind that Pumpkin won’t be much of a help if you don’t have any of the previous two items.

Weapons for Mage

The weapons of choice for Mage will be Tasers. A lot of them. You can go either 6 Tasers or 5 Tasers and something like a Wand or a Torch. They are the perfect weapons to go with your starting Snake and Scared Sausage.

Tasers will also slow down the enemies around you which is great since Mage isn’t nuking the aliens. He is letting them burn slowly so you need to have that extra wiggle room. Since the Taser is a Support and Elemental weapon type you will be getting extra Harvesting when you pile them up as well as extra Elemental damage.
