If you are like me, a player who enjoys getting up close and personal to bosses and executing the perfect dodge to show off to my friends, you may find the Invader is the perfect Build for you. Although hitting those weak spots against a terrifying and powerful boss can make you feel like a master in this game, there is nothing more satisfying than taking that boss down with your bare hands. As the Invader provides mobility to a Class unlike no other, you can combine this with Secondary Archetypes that focus on either stacking long-ranged damage or going all-in on a massive melee buff with a tankier Class. Unsure of where to start for this Build? This is Vincent’s recommendations on the best Invader Build to use in Remnant 2.
Best Invader Build in Remnant 2
The Invader is just one of the many secret Archetypes that you can find through exploring and hitting specific steps in the vast world of Remnant 2. As every Archetype is the product of their corresponding Engram, you will get very used to taking your good back to Wallace in Ward 13 to transfer these into the new Archetype you desire. For the Invader however, the route to obtaining its Engram – Serrated Root Blade can be difficult if you do not know where to start. For this reason, this quick step-by-step guide will outline what you need to do to unlock.
- Find the Escalation Protocol at the Corrupted Harbor of Root Earth.
- Use the Dreamcatcher with the Amulet in use to obtain the Walker’s Dream.
- Find and defeat Bane in Root Earth by using the Walker’s Dream consumable.
- Obtain his Wooden Shiv to take to Wallace at Ward 13 who will craft the Serrated Root Blade Engram for the Invader Archetype.

Invader and Hunter Build Summary (Co-op)
The steps to getting the Invader as a Secondary Archetype are much longer than the unlocking of other Classes in Remnant 2. For that reason, you may find that the best Archetype to pair it with is one of the default Classes offered at the beginning of the game. These provide great Skills and Perks that can be combined perfectly with the unique and versatile Invader. Meant for those who like stacking damage whilst being incredibly invasive, combining this with the Hunter just makes sense for the ultimate evasive Build.
As Invader thrives under both melee and long-range weapons, it makes sense to pair it with the Hunter. With the Hunter Perks increasing the overall damage output of range, weakspot and critical damage, you will want to use this with the Invader Perks that add evasiveness and stamina cost reduction, making you much harder to hit. As you are playing with friends, we recommend the Dead to Rights Prime Perk, Hunter’s Shroud Skill (Hunter) and the Reboot Skill (Invader). This Build is perfect for Relic Charge replenishment and will allow you to stay hidden with the Shroud, replacing the Shadow Prime Perk of Invader, whilst having your health, stamina and more saved by the Reboot Skill.
In this current meta, it is highly recommended to use long-range weapons such as the Nightfall, Chicago Typewriter or XMG57 Bonesaw for anything that is Hunter related.
Invader and Challenger Build Summary (Solo)
When picking the perfect solo Build for the Invader, we decided on the Challenger for the insane increase of melee damage. Acting similarly to the Summoner or Handler, the Invader’s Prime Perk offer a unique companion that behaves much like Ashe’s Bob in Overwatch. Distracting the enemy as your teammates, dog and minions would naturally do mid-fight, the shadow is there to draw the enemy’s fire. Although its effect of the Shadow Decoy does not last as long as others, pairing it with the perfectly placed dodge roll and Wormhole Skill will place your tanky Build of the Challenger directly in front/behind the enemy to deal 300% more damage.
Due to this combination, it is best placed with melee weapons due to the increased buffs of melee damage with stamina reduction costs that should be used with Challenger Perks such as Die Hard and Close Quarters. Using weapons such as Spectral Blade, Dreamcatcher or Nightshade will provide an insane amount of damage from the increased melee buffs with Invader and Challenger Perks enabled. Utilize the Juggernaut Skill for Challenger to reduce stagger which needs a focus for improvement to master this Build.
Whilst it is often recommended that the Medic is utilized for solo players, especially in the early game of Remnant 2, the Challenger offers a massive health advantage and one that could easily be closely compared to the Gunslinger DPS Build for its fast-paced, all-out attacking playstyle of close quarters combat.
