In Ragnarok Origin Hunters represent cunning warriors with proficiency in ranged weapons, surprise attacks, trap-making, and even battle animal training. These truly versatile warriors are a subclass of Archers and can have different skill builds that will allow them to master either one of those specialties.
However, since you can’t master all the skills simultaneously, we will dive into a trap specialist Hunter that we believe is one of the strongest ones in Ragnarok Origin right now. Hop in and learn how to build yourself a fearsome Hunter.

Stats for Hunter in Ragnarok Origin
Trap Hunters mostly depend on DEX and INT. You can choose to build your stats around those two traits, however, we would advise putting half your points on INT and half on DEX. Having this combo will provide you with more stat points in the damage calculation. Furthermore, some of your skills from the skill tree will have multipliers based on DEX and INT at the same time, so focusing on these two stats is vital for your character.
The main goal of your Hunter in this case is to be quick in both moving and attacking and to have the ability to spam traps rapidly and control the battlefield.
Archer Skills (1st Job)
- Owl’s Eye (level 10) – This passive skill provides you with a permanent bonus of 10 DEX. Since that is one of your primary stats, you get increased damage as well.
- Vulture’s Eye (level 10) – The power of Vulture will permanently provide you with 10 additional range.
- Arrow Shower (level 10) – An ability that does what it says – sends a fearsome rain of arrows that deal 300% damage + 100 Neural Physical Damage to the enemy. It’s always best to lure a group of enemies to your position before you use this ability.
- Attention Concentrate (level 10) – Activate this spell anytime you want a boost of speed. It gives you 10 bonus AGI and DEX for 4 minutes.
Hunter Skills (2nd Job)
- Falconry Mastery (level 1) – Passive skill that allows you to get a permanent falcon fighting by your side. It will cost you only 1 skill point and it’s absolutely worth taking this passive skill even if you don’t go for further crow upgrades.
- Detecting (level 1) – One more great skill that you can get by spending only one skill point. It allows you to send your falcon out to scout for you and reveal invisible units. Falcon Mastery is required of course.
- Beast Bane (level 10) – Another great passive that gives you 20% bonus damage against the Insect and Brute Monsters and a 10% damage boost against all others.
- Freezing Trap (level 5) – A Water Magic Damage type trap that deals damage according to the level of your DEX, INT, and your overall character level. It has a 95% change (meaning almost always) of freezing targets which means it will be your go-to disable spell. You can have a maximum of three of these traps placed at the same time and one lasts 30 seconds.
- Claymore Trap (level 5) – This trap has Fire Magic Damage and is one of the cornerstones of this build. Use the trap as a primary weapon to blow up enemies. Like other traps, it deals damage based on your overall character level and DEX and INT stats. You can have a maximum of three of these traps at the same time and one trap lasts for 100 seconds.
- Land Mine (level 5) – Earth Magic Damage trap that uses your character’s level, DEX, and INT to get its final damage score. The trap can stun monsters that step on it, has a max cap of 3, and lasts 40 seconds.
- Flasher (level 5) – When you use this support trap you have a 95% of blinding 10 monsters for 17 seconds. The trap lasts 30 seconds and you can’t place more than 3 at the same time.
- Skid Trap (level 5) – A Skid trap is one that lasts really long (5 minutes) and it slides forward some of the monsters that walk in it. It can be a great option for controlling masses of enemies on the battlefield when your other traps are on cooldown.
Things to Pay Attention To
Lastly, there are two more traps that were omitted from this build and those are Blast Mine and Sandman Shock trap. Blast Mine is a Wind Magic Damage type trap, while the Sandman Shock trap is Neutral type and you can insert them in your build instead of one of the other traps that we suggested if it fits your strategy. However, we suggest keeping the Claymore trap at all times since it’s a really good damage dealer and is a basis for this build.
Moreover, since traps are a foundation of your damage and the whole build here’s the breakdown of all elements that can influence how high their damage will be:
- Character level
- INT
- DEX
- MDMG
- MATK (Magic attack / Magic damage)
- Equipment refine level
