What are the Best Horse Breeds in The Sims 4?

Having horses in The Sims 4 is purely for entertainment and doesn’t require you to have a specific breed to win prizes at events. All the animals you create in The Sims 4 are entirely up to your imagination and what you’re looking for. In the Horse Ranch Expansion, there are a total of 30 different breeds you can add to your ranch where you can customize their appearance. It’s not about what breed is the best. It’s about what traits they have that make them the best.

Here is an entire list of breeds available on The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Expansion:

What are the different Traits Horses have in The Sims 4?

The breed of the horse is purely a cosmetic choice. You can pick any breed you want, however, their temperament is what’s important. If you have a horse that is defiant or needy it will be harder to train. This is similar to cats and dogs when they have negative traits. If your dog is smart it will learn certain commands faster than dogs who are lazy. Horses have their own traits that follow closely to dogs and cats.

You can have a total of three traits for your horse after you have finished customizing it. These traits will determine the type of horse you want for your Sim family. Here are some of the traits we know of so far that are coming in the upcoming Horse Ranch Expansion:

  • Aggressive
  • Energetic
  • Friendly
  • Mellow
  • Brave
  • Fearful
  • Independent
  • Needy
  • Defiant
  • Free Spirit
  • Intelligent
