Project Wingman

If you’re looking for a flight simulator that’s got fair amount to do in it, then Humble Game’s own Project Wingman is the best choice for you. Not only can you run it if you’ve got a GTX 660ti or equivalent, but there’s a large amount of aircraft to pilot and large-scale game modes to engage in.

War Thunder

On the free side, you really cannot go wrong with War Thunder. It really is a interesting game that warrants a download. The aircraft are beaufituflly recreated and you can even take to the ground or water in other kinds of military vehicles.

Warplanes: WW2 Dogfight

Another great free-to-play flight simulator is Warplanes: WW2 Dogfight. Not only does it have great combat, but it’s generally dated-looking visuals make it no sweat to run on an old or lower end PC. This is a must-have, even just to give a try.

Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)

If there’s one flight simulator game that most have heard of, it’s Microsoft Flight Simulator. Not only is it an impressive title, but it can actually run on older hardware if you lower the visual settings. The game isn’t very demanding at lower settings, so feel free to check it out!

X-Plane 11

If you’re not a fan of Flight Simulator for one reason or another, a comparable title is Laminar Researcher’s X-Plane 11. This has a large roster of planes to fly around some great locales that won’t scorch your hardware if it’s on the lower-end side of things.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown

Though Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown has a steep learning curve, it’s really a fun game once you get the hang of it. Players that can wrap their heads around it will be happy to know that it actually runs on some low hardware. It’s definitely worth a try, especially if you can get it cheap.

Kerbal Space Program

Last on our list is a tried and true simulator title that won’t impact your hardware, no matter how old. Kerbal Space Program is a difficult simulation title to wrap your head around but it’s one that’s well worth the time to get into it.
