Now before people go searching for the ‘Archer’ class while rolling your character, there are some things you should know. Namely the fact that archer isn’t technically a class in BG3, at least not by that name. If you’re looking to spec straight into being an archer, you’ll want to choose the Ranger class. Stat-wise, Rangers should focus primarily on Dexterity, with a secondary focus in Wisdom. This class will focus mainly on dealing ranged damage, as well as concentrations for enemy de-buffs. Becoming a Ranger isn’t the only proficient way to being an Archer mind you.

There is another class that is proficient with simple ranged weapons as well as hand crossbows. Players should go with the Bard class, for a mix of ranged attacks and a party buffs. Bards can be versatile, allowing them to use melee weapons as well as ranged. Despite that, if you’re party is in desperate need of a healer as well as some extra ranged attacks, Bard is your best option. You’ll also receive a decent amount of Cantrips exclusive to Bard. These skills are all about giving your party advantages, while making sure foes are at the biggest disadvantage. And you get to play a little tune for your party while dancing on the corpses of your enemies. What could be better than that?
