There are many different types of Mystery Islands in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This guide will walk you through the various possible Mystery Islands, along with their layouts and unique traits.

There are ten different types of possible islands, each with their particular layout. Some islands have unique resources, such as Bamboo Trees, while others have an abundance of things like Bells.

Normal Island

Normal Islands are the most basic type of Island in the game, and there is nothing unique about them.

Fruit Island

Fruit Island consists only of fruit trees. For the most part, the fruits will be secondary fruits.

Spiral Island

This Island is named for its shape: a spiral. You have a chance to find a fossil located in the center of the spiral. It’s a rare fossil and sells for a high price but is not always guaranteed.

Mountain Island

Mountain Island has no rivers and contains a mountain with 5 rocks on top of it. You can spawn infinite Centipedes or Pill Bugs from the rocks by hitting them with a shovel.

This Island contains a pond, and players have a high chance of catching Carp and Goldfish. There is no hybrid flower on this Island.

Big Fish Island (Bass Island)

Bells Island

Flower Island

This Island has a pond surrounded by two types of hybrid flowers. You’ll find primarily common and secondary flowers here. The lake contains many Carp, and you can also find Emperor Butterfly here.

Tarantula Island

Tarantula Island is named this because you will find infinite Tarantulas spawn here. It is composed of a central aisle surrounded by a stream that you can jump to without a pole.

Fins Island

Gold Island

Gold Island is a rare Island containing scorpions, flowers, and a pond in the center. In the middle of the Island, you can find a rock with eight gold nuggets. This Island requires a Town Hall, vaulting pole, and a ladder.

Scorpion Island

This Island is exclusive to summertime and contains an infinite amount of scorpions. There are two different layouts for this particular Island. One has a pond in the middle with a rock that contains eight gold nuggets. It is also known as “Gold Island”, which is listed above. The land surrounds the middle pond, and that’s where tons of scorpions spawn.

The other layout is a circular Island with four hills in each of the corners of the map. The center contains many common flowers where you can find many scorpions. The Island also contains six rocks that contain 16,000+ bells in them. If you manage to find this elusive Island, be sure to collect your Bells.

Trash Island

Fishing on this Island will net you only trash, so you probably want to avoid this one.
