All Tuning Changes Coming to Destiny 2 Lightfall

It's going to be a messy META.

We’re going over all the tuning changes coming to Destiny 2 Lightfall. There’s a lot changing when Lightfall and Season 20 drop, from the new subclass to perk reworks. Some of the most impactful changes, though, are the small tuning adjustments being made to weapons and abilities. The difference between an incredible weapon and a terrible one can often be as simple as a couple of extra seconds on a timer.

One change is all it takes to throw the META into disarray – and that’s exactly what’s happened. We’ll go over all the tuning changes you can expect with Lightfall, so get ready to start digging through that Vault for old weapons.

Destiny 2 – All Tuning Changes Coming to Lightfall

Here are all the tuning changes coming to Destiny 2 Lightfall. There are more additions and changes coming to Destiny 2 than what we’re going over here – but these are all the actually tuning changes to pre-existing weapons and abilities.

Weapon Tuning Changes

  • Heavy Grenade Launcher Buff – Heavy Grenade Launchers are getting a 20% damage buff to Majors, Champions, and Bosses. They’re also getting a 40% damage bump against Minor enemies. The only Heavy GL not affected by this is Parasite (obviously).
  • Linear Fusion Rifle Nerf – The age of the Linear is finally at an end. With the exception of Sleeper Simulant and Queenbreaker, all Linears will be getting a 15% damage nerf.
  • Kinetic Weapon Buff and Stasis Nerf – Kinetic weapons are getting a 5% damage buff across the board, while Stasis weapons are getting a 10% nerf.
  • Machine Gun Buff – Machine Guns will now have more reserve ammo. They also received a 10% damage buff.

Build Tuning Changes

  • Discipline, Strength, Class-Ability Stat Nerfs – The efficiency of Grenade regen, Melee regen, and Class Ability regen has been reduced. Tier 10 is now equivalent to pre-Lightfall tier 8. The regen rate per tier has also been reworked to be more consistent.
  • Hunter Dodge Buff – Marksman’s Dodge has had its base cooldown reduced from 34s to 29s. Gambler’s Dodge base cooldown is reduced from 46s to 38s.
  • Spark of Resistance Nerf – Increased nearby enemy requirement from two to three for activation. The linger period of the Fragment still being active when you’re no longer surrounded has been reduced from 4s to 2s.
  • Phoenix Dive Buff – The base cooldown of Phoenix Dive has been reduced from 82s to 55s. If you have Heat Rises active, the Restoration effect of Pheonix Dive has increased duration, from 1s to 3s. If you have Daybreak active, Phoenix Dive’s cooldown is massively reduced, and the maximum damage detonation from the Dive is increased from 80 to 220.

Super Tuning Changes

  • Super Orb Changes – Roaming Supers can now create up to seven Orbs of Power. Non-roaming Supers can now only create five Orbs of Power, as opposed to seven. Both Shadowshot variants, Ward of Dawn, and Well of Radiance are not impacted by these changes.
  • Super Cooldown Changes – Hammer of Sol, Daybreak, and Spectral Blades base cooldown has been reduced from 10:25 to 9:16.
  • Ward of Dawn Changes – Maximum health reduced from 13,500 to 8000. All weapons now deal the same damage to the Bubble – previously energy weapons did 2.5x damage. Armor of Light health was reduced from 425 to 300, and it now inherits Void Overshield’s 50% damage reduction from PvE. However, it no longer negates precision damage.
  • Thundercrash Changes – Flight time has been reduced from 5s to 4.5s. The size of the damaging AOE around the Thundercrashing player has been reduced by 20% and has been adjusted to be in front of the user. The landing detonation AOE has been reduced by 20% in PvP. Along with these changes, Fist of Havoc has had its PvE damage increased by 20%.
  • Daybreak Changes – The Super energy cost of each sword swing has been reduced from 10% to 6.5%. The PvE damage of Daybreak has been increased by 25%.

That’s a whole lot of changes, and it’s going to be scary not having Linears to rely on anymore. If one thing’s certain, though, it’s that we’ll have a new META figured out by the time the new raid launches. To be kept up to date on how the new META develops – follow Gamer Journalist on Facebook.
