I don’t claim to know the precise means by which a village ends up abandoned. Maybe everyone was chased out by a giant monster, or maybe the property values dropped, who can say? Point is, if everyone left the village in a hurry, there’s bound to be some cool stuff lying around for the taking. Here are all the Abandoned Village collectibles in God of War Ragnarok.

Finding all of the collectibles in the Abandoned Village requires both some exploration abilities and a sufficient character level for a combat encounter. As such, you might want to hold off on exploring thoroughly until you’ve completed the main campaign of God of War Ragnarok and are in the post game.
Odin’s Raven
When you first enter the Abandoned Village from the Eastern Barri Woods, follow the obvious pathway until you come to a part where you slide down a rope. If you look to your left, you should see a small building with a balcony. Step out onto the balcony, and you’ll see Odin’s Raven in its smug glory hiding amongst the trees.
Rune Translation
Right after you deal with the Raven, swing across the gap with your Draupnir Spear and continue following the main path until you enter the nearby cave. You should see a turntable crane that you can latch onto and swing across with the Blades of Chaos. Afterward, you should see the blue, glowing runes on the wall for Atreus to read, detailing a prayer to Freya.
Legendary Chest 1
To the immediate left of the Rune Translation, you should see a small passage blocked by rubble. Use the Blades of Chaos to clear that mess out of there. Shimmy into the passage and follow the path until you come across the Legendary Chest, covered in poison mist. Use the Leviathan Axe to freeze the plant spewing the mist, allowing you to claim the Shatter Star Shield within.
Scroll
Right after opening the Legendary Chest, climb the nearby ledge and ride the ropeway across the water. On your left should be a spot you can stick your Draupnir Spear into the wall. Use it to swing across the gap and enter the room on your right to find a chore Scroll on the floor.
Draugr Hole
Right behind the spot where you find the Scroll should be a small cave entrance, within which you’ll encounter a gaggle of Draugr. Hope you’re ready for a fight.
Legendary Chest 2
If and when you successfully mop up the Draugr, check the far side of their hideout to find another small passageway to sneak through. On the other side of this passage, you’ll find the Legendary Chest containing the Rond of Restoration Shield Attachment.
Nornir Chest
Backtrack to the spot where you planted your Draupnir Spear in the wall to find the Scroll. Follow the pathway to your left and scale the walls to reach another Turntable Crane. Use the Leviathan Axe to get the crane turning, then the Blades of Chaos to pull the torch hanging from it. Yank the torch into the braziers along the crane’s path to light them up, and the Nornir Chest, located down by the riverbank, will unlock.
Legendary Chest 3
Keep following the main path until you come upon one last Turntable Crane. The crane’s arm is blocked by a stone pillar, but if you drop down to the lower level, you’ll find a cave leading you to the pillar. Knock the pillar over to free up the crane, then climb back up and activate it with your Leviathan Axe. Line the arm up with the nearby cliff, then use your Draupnir Spear to swing up to it. You’ll see the Legendary Chest across another gap; just turn the crane again to create a pathway. Crack open the chest to claim the Helios Flare Runic Attack.
That’s quite a bit of cool stuff. I sure hope whatever drove all the people out of this village was really scary, or they probably felt very silly leaving that stuff behind.
