All Puzzle Solutions in Act 1 The Entropy Centre

A timey wimey display

The Entropy Centre is here. Released November 3rd, 2022, Stubby Game’s first-person puzzle game focusses on the mechanics of reversing time on objects. Build up Entropy energy by solving puzzles, and save Earth from damnation. Trapped alone on a space station, Aria Adams is tasked with the seemingly impossible mission of saving the Earth during a cataclysmic event. You must work with Astra, the AI accompanying you on your mission to save the Earth. For Act 1, Entropy Centre has introductory puzzles for you to dip your toes into. Whilst these start off relatively easy, introducing you to the game mechanics, as each Act goes on the puzzles get more complicated.

Puzzle 0101

The first Act 1 puzzle is 0101. It kindly starts off really simple. There are two switches on the floor, one unlocks the door on the right, and the other unlocks the door on the left (the exit). There are 3 steps to this puzzle:

  • Place the box on the switch on the left first, then move the box to the switch on the right.
  • With the box on the right switch, go up the stairs and pass through the now-open door.

  • Look over the edge and rewind using the left mouse click. You must have your cursor pointing right at the box. Rewind until the box is on the left switch (from this POV the box will now be on your right). This will open the exit door.

Puzzle 0102

Puzzle 0102 introduces the mechanic of a switch having multiple functions. This time there are 3 doors you will need to get through to beat this puzzle. The switch on the left opens two doors, the first and last whilst the right switch opens the middle door.

The solution to this one is simple:

  • Place the box on the left switch first, then move it to the right switch and then back onto the left. This will create a rewind trail to open doors 1 and 3 first.
  • With the box placed on the left switch (in your POV this is now the right), walk through the first door. Rewind the box so that it sits on top of the right switch (left switch in your POV). This will open door 2.
  • Go through door 2 and then hold rewind once more until the box returns to the left switch (right switch in your POV). This will reopen door 3, go through to complete the puzzle.

For this puzzle, it’s all about the box’s positioning as you need to be able to rewind it at a further distance. There is a wall in between the switch and the platform that you will need to stand on to complete the puzzle.

  • Firstly, you need to create a trail that starts on the switch. So, move the box over to the switch and then return it to its original place. It must go here so that you can click to reverse the boxes movement.
  • Head over to the platform and turn around. Begin to rewind the box, the trail will look something like the screenshot above. Rewind until the box is on the switch and then stop the rewind so the box drops. You do not want to rewind the whole way, or the box will return to its starting position.
  • The platform will lift, and you can walk to the right to finish this puzzle.

The final Act 1 puzzle has two switches in play. One controls the moving platform, the other is the door control. For every puzzle you have to think backward, so think of what you would need to do first to get to the exit door. In this case, you need to get onto that moving platform.

  • Create a trail starting from the switch which controls the door (switch on your right as you enter the room). From here you will drag the box to the left switch, this controls the platform. You need to take the box off this switch so that the platform starts at the top of the stairs. Simply move the box off the switch (as seen in the screenshot above).
  • Head up the stairs and step on the platform. Begin rewinding the box until it is on the switch below the platform. This will move the platform to the left. You do not need to cancel the rewinding of the box, simply stop holding the left mouse click and it will keep your trail.

  • Now on the other side of the gap, resume rewinding the box. You need it on the other switch. Before you attempt any rewinding, we recommend that you check the route of the trail.
  • Rewind until it is on the other switch and click stop rewinding. You do not want it to rewind until the end of the trail as it will close the exit door.
  • Now with the box on the exit door switch, you can head on through and finish this puzzle.

Act 1 Ending

Just a tip for this section. Whilst this is a short section, it does not give you much time to properly react to the falling debris around you. We recommend that you immediately start looking to your left and right when you reach the first bend. There are multiple moments where the debris is falling onto you or the section in front of you. Anything that is rewindable will highlight with an orange outlined glow, whenever you see this click rewind so that you avoid being crushed.
