The new idols in the game are Frye, Shiver, and Big Man. Together they are known as ‘Deep Cut’, hosting the Splatsville news program called Anarchy Splatcast. Not only is the concept of having a new program interesting for the users in-game, it is functional too. The news program provides information on battle stage rotation and news headlines about important events like Splatfests in Splatoon 3.

Shiver is a blue hair Octoling. She has red eyes and is also known as Shark Tamer. Frye is an inkling with yellow hair and eyes. Matching the yellow theme, Frye wears a turtle neck followed by a yellow cropped top and wide pants. Big Man is a giant manta ray who features white and grey pattern on his body. He speaks an unidentifiable language and wears an interesting looking headdress.

The concept of having a dedicated media news channel in the game is not new. The original Splatoon had Callie and Marie do the role of news readers. Marina and Pearl replaced them in Splatoon 2.
