Astral Ascent is a retro pixel art game of the rogue-lite genre. It is set in a modern fantasy World ruled by supernatural beings under the signs of the Zodiac. The main characters are four very different persons whose common goal is to escape from the Garden.

Astral Ascent Characters
Four distinct playable characters, Ayla, Kiran, Octave, and Calie, are available to the player in Astral Ascent, each with their special abilities, backstories, and weapons. To experience the narrative from their point of view, the player can select to play one of them.
The Garden, the Astral Prison, which stands in for the HUB, is where the four player characters are found. Only one player at a time may play a certain character.
Ayla
Ayla was a member of an assassin’s guild, Order of the Coalescent Sisters. Being a Valpher, a member of an all-female species with supreme agility and silver hair, she excelled in learning the assassins’ art. Her weapon of choice is twin daggers, and she can use them to eliminate enemies before they can even react. Ayla is one of two characters that are unlocked at the beginning of the game, along with Kiran.
Kiran
Kiran is an orphan who was raised on a fleet of spaceships called the Infinite Caravan. The fleet specialized in trading, but it took everyone needing help growing up. Kiran was an orphan and the last survivor of a dying planet. His ambition was to become a Silver Scout, and he trained in hand-to-hand combat enhanced by fire. His brutal style delivers humongous damage to opponents.
Octave
Octave is a wielder of dual guns. His upbringing was pretty rough, like the rest of the squad. His mother was a powerful witch, Ajeanne, who created him to destroy The Tyrant. She brainwashed him and injected him with ancient blood. Unfortunately, the process left him corrupted. This young fighter attacks his enemies by calling forth ethereal guns. He can also summon more powerful weapons when necessary.
Calie
Before being abducted by Tyrant, Calie was a very prominent artist and her planet’s prodigy. She was very talented in all kinds of arts, but she was especially good as a Geomancer, being able to summon various objects. Her weapon of choice is her magic gemstones called Polytechnical Gems. She uses them to pierce enemy defenses and unleash devastating attacks.
