What’s New in Age of Wonders 4 Empires and Ashes?
The most recent expansion to the game, Empires and Ashes, features a lot of new content, with a new race form, culture, tomes, stories, victory conditions, and additional content. The highlights include:
New Culture: Reavers
For those who enjoy creating their factions in Age of Wonders 4, a new culture, the Reavers, is available. They use their industrial power to fuel a culture of war and conquest. The culture prefers ranged combat and hit-and-run tactics, making them adept at guerrilla-style ambushes to wipe out opponents.
New Form: Avians
Do you like birds? How about a wave of birds slaughtering entire civilizations and forming their own kingdoms? That’s cool. The new form in Ashes and Empires is the Avian, which are warring bird-like creatures that use Nests.
As you can see in the game’s promotional image above, you can create a race of Avian that rides bears into battle. Metal!

In Age of Wonders 4, tomes are the various types of spells and schools of magic your culture can learn and use in and outside combat. Ashes and Empires includes new tomes, four in total, including:

New Story
