AI Difficulty in DMZ is Way Too High for Many Players

The difficulty, is too dang high!

There is no doubt that Activision and Infinity Ward’s Warzone 2.0 mode, DMZ, is giving even the likes of Escape from Tarkov a run for its money. With an expansive map to explore, missions to complete, and rewards to gain, DMZ is perhaps one of the most intriguing parts of Call of Duty in recent memory.

But along with this new mode comes some growing pains, for the game and the players themselves. Aside from new mechanics, there’s the harshness that comes from enemy AI which is extremely lethal foes. But is it AI or the players? Well, a sizeable amount of people think that the AI difficulty in DMZ is way too high for many players.

AI Difficulty in DMZ is Way Too High for Many Players

If you’ve been playing DMZ since its release, you are definitely aware that the AI opponents can oftentimes be a bit more worrisome than other actual players. Their accuracy is impeccable, they can take a lot of damage, and will spot you from hundreds of yards away without delay.

Plus, there are just a ton of them at any given point, making it that much harder to even survive an attack. It’s their inclusion that, for most, is a drawback to the mode. I myself have slowed down on playing DMZ altogether unless forced to play by friends.

But if you are having this same sentiment, then you aren’t alone. Many players are having a difficult time enjoying the mode because of this exact reason. It’s been such a vocal issue from the point of the community, that Infinity Ward actually patched it a bit with the release of Season 2 for Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2.

In the patch notes for Season 2, located within the Gameplay section, you can see that Enemy Tuning has an entry. The patch note reads “Adjusted lethality of AI across Al Mazrah including number of AI spawning, and the accuracy of AI at range.”

So if you had wondered if it was you just having to get gud or not, it isn’t. The enemy AI just needed to be tweaked so that they aren’t as dangerous as they have been. Hopefully, this tweak is enough to make DMZ a fun mode to play for those of us tired of being decimated by AI every other drop into it.

So, now you know that you aren’t alone in thinking that AI difficulty in DMZ is just way too high for a lot of players.
