Cyberpunk 2077 release date is pushed back from September 17 to November 19, according to a Tweet from CD Projekt Red. The official announcement states that the game’s content and the gameplay is done, but the team needs more time to go through everything.

“Cyberpunk 2077 is finished both content and gameplay-wise. The quests, the cutscenes, the skills, and items; all the adventures Night City has to offer – it’s all there,” the announcement reads.

The post goes on to explain the reason for the delay: “But with such an abundance of content and complex systems interweaving with each other, we need to properly go through everything, balance game mechanics and fix a lot of bugs.”

Today marks the second time CD Projekt Red has delayed their upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 game. The game was originally scheduled to release on April 16, 2020.

The studio has already confirmed Cyberpunk 2077 will launch on next-gen consoles Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 after the initial release. With this new announcement, that means the game will potentially arrive on those consoles within weeks of their launch date.

While this is disappointing news for most fans, CDPR’s quality assurance has always been top-notch. Allowing for some extra time to thoroughly test the game in its entirety is never a bad thing.
