Madden NFL 23: All Safety Ratings Revealed

A safety in the NFL is widely regarded as one of the most important and versatile positions on the field. As the name suggests, the safety is the last line of defense and their goal is to ensure that no offensive players runs or catches a pass within their vicinity on route to a touchdown. However, since the roles of the strong safety (SS) are different than that of the free safety (FS), we’ve provided each player’s overall rating along with their respective position on the field.

My immediate takeaway from the Madden NFL 23 safety ratings is that they are relatively accurate. In all honesty, I still think most NFL fans would admit that Justin Simmons is the best overall safety in the league, while Jordan Poyer could probably have been rated higher than the 10th best safety in the game. That being said, these ratings are pretty good all-around.

Nearly every player in the top 60 carries an overall rating that would justify them as starters. Which means that every franchise in Madden NFL 23 should have at least one elite safety on either side of the field. Unfortunately, rookie Kyle Hamilton was given a lowly 76 overall despite being one of the more “NFL-ready” prospects from the draft. Nevertheless, I’m reasonably impressed with these safety ratings.
