The Rainbowfish is a small fish that spawns in rivers during the months of May through October for the Northern Hemisphere. You will need to be on the lookout for a small shadow to catch this one. This one will be swimming around in the mornings and afternoons, from 9 AM to 4 PM.

  • Fish: Rainbowfish
  • Location: Rivers
  • Shadow: Small
  • Northern Hemisphere Months: May – October
  • Time of Day: 9 AM – 4 PM

This fish can be challenging to catch mostly because there are many small shadow river fish out there. Rainbowfish will need to compete for a spawn with all the other small shadow fish. There are some tips and tricks you can do to increase your odds of finding one, though.

First, make sure you are looking for only SMALL shadows. If you have trouble getting it to spawn make sure you bring a lot of bait with you. Throw some in and it will guarantee a fish spawn, one of which might be the Rainbowfish.

Next, double-check to make sure you’re looking for this fish during the correct months and time of day. I hope this guide helped you out and showed you how to catch Rainbowfish in Animal Crossing New Horizons. Happy fishing and good luck!
