What is the Best Feat for a Level 4 Sorcerer in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Right at the start we need to mention that there are two schools of thought when it comes to picking a level 4 Sorcerer build. One line of players thinks that boosting the ability points is the only obvious way to go while others would choose the unique Feats like War Caster or Spell Sniper.

The reason why certain players want to exclusively use the Ability Improvement Feat is because they believe that the Spellcasting Modifier (Charisma in your case) needs to be upgraded as much as possible as soon as possible. Firstly, your Attack Rolls (for the spells that have them) are increased with Charisma, meaning that your spells have increased chances to hit. Secondly, the more Charisma you have, the higher the Saving Throw that you impose on your enemies. This means that once they are hit with your spell, they’ll have a harder time resisting it and an increased chance of taking its full damage.

Further, going for popular Feats like War Caster or Spell Sniper gives you a one-of-a-kind ability that can help you immensely in combat. War Caster gives you the ability to gain Advantage on your Saving Throws and maintain Concentration on a spell, meaning you’ll be more difficult to interrupt. The Feat also brings a Shocking Grasp spell as a reaction at any target moving out of your melee range. If you want to go down a different path, Spell Sniper is a much simpler Feat for you. It simply increases the Crit chances of your spells by reducing the number you need to roll for a Critical Hit by 1.
