Larian Studios has hit it out of the park with the full release of Baldur’s Gate 3. The expansive and enthralling CRPG has hit the ground running, amassing over 800,000 peak concurrent players on Steam just over the course of launch weekend. Players who waited until the full release are treated to a wonderous and beautiful opening act of the game. And even if you’re familiar with the early access version, there’s plenty of new tricks and updates in store. Companions you meet at the beginning of the game have also had their first encounters tweaked and improved. We’re going to go over our friendly ticking time bomb, and figure out where to find Gale in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3).
Where to Find Gale in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)
For those just starting their journey across the Forgotten Realms, Gale is an origin character/companion within the world of BG3. He can be recruited to your party and provide an extra magical kick to your team. He was previously encountered in the early access version of the game, however developers decided to add an extra cinematic flourish to his entrance. Once you’ve recovered from your fantastic “landing” of the Nautiloid ship, you’ll want to make your way north through the vessel. Continue until you can exit from an opening in the ship on the right side.

Reaching the Roadside Cliffs, you’ll notice that a large sigil is marking a nearby rock slab. This sigil will then erupt into a portal that players are able to interact with. Touch the sigil, and an arm will stick its way through with a voice on the other side asking you to pull them through. You’ll get multiple options to choose from after this, but we’re looking for the ones that get Gale out of the portal.
You could utilize a Druid to soothe the sigil with a wisdom dice roll. Less situationally equipped classes will need to roll a strength die in order to pull him through with your hands. If you succeed, Gale will be thrust into our reality, prompting him to thank you for your assistance. From here, simply talk to Gale, and after informing him of the creepy crawly in your head, he’ll offer his companionship to you and your party.
