Who is The Entity in FNAF: Security Breach Ruin DLC?

Will every villain be a glitch from now on?

In Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach, the villain is shown as Glitchtrap who could manipulate Vanessa (security guard of the Pizzaplex) to lure in children via the V.A.N.N.I mask. With the move from animatronics to a pure technological dystopian of nefarious malware that is both sentient and powerful, the outcome is one that is introducing more and more villains in the form of code. No longer is the primary fear mechanical animal suits that have gone rouge or a deranged killer enacting revenge for his daughter. Players need to be weary of everything they see in FNAF as the puppeteer pulling the strings is no longer just a virus spreading across our favorite mascots. This is Vincent’s explanation of the Entity and its identity in FNAF: Security Breach – Ruin DLC.

Who is the M.X.E.S in FNAF: Security Breach – Ruin?

Although portrayed as the villain of the Ruin DLC, the M.X.E.S is in fact one of the good guys in the FNAF story. Whilst its appearance is reminiscent of Vanny bunny, especially when consumed in its downloadable content for Security Breach, a lot of us who were traumatised from the first Vanny experience will get bad vibes initially from the Entity. However, this is exactly what the game wants you to think. Your only real pointer towards M.X.E.S being bad is upon getting the Vanny mask and being told by Helpy that you need to stay away from it. This is all a manipulation ploy to get you to take down the M.X.E.S which will free the Mimic who is trapped inside the darkest points of the Pizzaplex.

For those wondering about M.X.E.S and its Entity name given by the game, it can be appropriately summarized as a security system put in place by Vanessa and Gregory to keep the Mimic trapped inside the Pizzaplex. As the building was brought to rubble, the Mimic survived as it always has done, where the only means of keeping it trapped is by using its power against it – technology. Because it has the ability to control over animatronics or replicate its voice and identity to be someone else, the Mimic could only use its voice in the end to do what it did best – lure children into its grasps. Whilst the effect of Security Breach still worked as the aftermath left the animatronics trapped, destroyed and vengeful for anyone who enters, the Mimic could never leave the Pizzaplex due to the Entity’s system that kept it in place.

The appearance of M.X.E.S ties into Vanessa due to her Vanny appearance we are all aware of. But with the M.X.E.S, it shows the real side of Vanessa who is trying to do good after being forced to do the Mimic’s bidding. So when looking at the Entity and its fabricated villainous behavior, just remember that the M.X.E.S was put in place to keep Mimic trapped. Cassie being tricked to stop the Entity by listening to Gregory’s voice resulted in the Mimic gaining back full control of the system that started the security breach in the first place.
