Destiny 2 has never been a stranger to the grind, and Season of the Splicer is no exception. In the latest season, you will likely encounter some locked chests during expunge missions. These chests require a special kind of key to open them. So if you’re looking to get corrupted key codes to open expunge chests, you best prepare yourself for a bit of hard work.
How to Get Corrupted Key Codes in Destiny 2
To get corrupted key codes in Destiny 2, you need to enable corrupted key codes to drop in the first place. To do that, you need to finish the Path of the Splicer VI. If you’ve been playing through this season, then you already have that done. If you’ve been falling behind, then you want to finish that quest line before trying to open expunge chests.
Once you do finish that quest, all you have to do is play the game. Corrupted key codes are a random drop from playlist activities. The drop rate on them is super low, so the best way to get them is to work towards some other objectives you have and pray to the Traveller that you get good RNG while you do so.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to increase your drop rate, sorry. You just have to deal with the grind if you want to get into those endgame expunge chests.
