League of Legends MSI Rumble Stage Day 5 Results

Day Five is the Rumble Stage’s final day and from the results, we can see the traumatic roller coaster ride that teams faced.  Royal Never Give Up fell to the MAD Lions, PGG continued their 0-2 days and Cloud9 were eliminated quickly after the day’s first half of games.  Our four finalists will be Damwon KIA, Royal Never Give Up, PSG Talon and MAD Lions!

Game of the Day

The first game of the day between Royal Never Give Up and Damwon KIA demonstrated high level League of Legends.  Although RNG was in the lead for the majority of the game, DWK kept up blow for blow and did not let the gold lead extend to more than 10% of their total gold.  Each team fought until Dragon Soul point, and DWK secured a late game baron that gave the 2020 Champs hope, but Gala and Ming were too crisp with their teamfighting and cleaned up the match.

Credit to Pentanet GG who, against all odds, did not get steamrolled today in either of their games.  The streak is broken and despite being eliminated from the tournament yesterday, PGG has played better by the day.

Bracket Stage

Damwon KIA has selected the MAD Lions for their semifinal matchup.  As a result, Royal Never Give Up will be facing PSG Talon.  This was a very predictable set of matchups as DWK are aiming to not only pick the team that is weaker in standings but also to avoid the team formerly labeled as the ‘Korean Killers’.  The semifinals will begin on Friday, May 21st and will be a best of five series.  Best of luck to all aiming for the 2021 Mid-Season Invitational trophy!
