When is Call of Duty 2021 Releasing?

Call of Duty is sort of the white noise of modern gaming. In a good way, I mean; it’s always there, every year, running in the background of our collective lives. No matter how things change, what new consoles come and old ones go, there it is, with a playerbase to accompany it. It’s a model of consistent design, or something like that. So, when is Call of Duty 2021 releasing?

Official details on 2021’s iteration of Call of Duty are still very few and far between, but we do have some rumors and potential leaks to cogitate on. Firstly, it’s rumored that this installment of Call of Duty will be titled Call of Duty: Vanguard. Whether that has any bearing on the game itself or the boys at Activision were just throwing darts at a dartboard covered with cool-sounding words, I couldn’t tell you. Though, speaking of Activision, we also recently learned that the developer this time around is Sledgehammer Games. They acted in assistant roles to Treyarch, Raven Software, and Infinity Ward on the last two Call of Duty games, though they did have top billing on 2014’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and 2017’s Call of Duty: WWII.

When is Call of Duty 2021 Releasing?

As for the release date, well, we don’t have one yet, but we do have a ballpark. Activision said at their most recent investor call that Call of Duty 2021 will be out for modern consoles later this year, and if I know anything about video game release schedules, I’d bet my bottom dollar that they’re shooting for the 2021 holiday season. In other words, you should probably expect a release sometime prior to Black Friday on November 26, or if they miss that, then most definitely before Christmas.
