How to Get the Cape in Dark and Darker

Edna Mode might have a thing or two to say about these capes.

Amidst legal battles and issues that developers over at IRONMACE have been trying to tamper, they released another playtest for their wildly popular PvEvP experience, Dark and Darker. Dubbed as “Escape From Tarkov but medieval” Dark and Darker’s latest playtest has not only brought the game back, but with all new features. A new map, new class, and even an entirely new slot in your inventory. This slot is located to the right of your main body gear. Boasting great armor rating, as well as decent stat boosts. Let’s lockpick a chest and figure out how to get the cape in Dark and Darker.

Acquiring this flowing piece of fabric can be a bit tricky if you are playing alone. These items aren’t just lying around in a pile of bones. According to players in the community, there might be a few different places players might be able to find a cape. A cape can work for any class, and while capes are the only thing at the moment that fit in that specific inventory slot, the name of the slot is not cape, its back. Meaning, with further updates and development, it wouldn’t be surprising if there were other unique back pieces that are different than capes.

For now, if you would like to get your hands on a fancy back cape, one of the places it can be found is the chest in Goblin Cave after defeating the Ogre boss. You can of course scour the market board and see if anyone is selling one, but that requires having gold on hand and ready to spend. Alternatively, while it is rare, many people have found capes within Lion Chests. These larger than average chests are usually surrounded by fearsome foes, so you’ll need a decent team or invisibility potion if you want to check some Lion Chests. While you do have your occasional cape drops from random mobs, these two (or three) methods are your quickest way to looking like your favorite superhero. Just make sure you make it out of there alive. Otherwise, that will be someone else’s fancy looking cape.
