Warzone’s DMR, Dual Pistols, Type 63, and Mac-10 Receive Nerfs

Warzone players rejoice because a few of the most overpowered and overused weapons have finally been nerfed. Raven Software confirms that the most recent Black Ops Cold War and Warzone update targets the DMR 14, akimbo Diamattis, Type 63, and Mac 10. Here’s a look at what exact changes Warzone players can expect in today’s update.

Raven Software confirms on Twitter that the January 6 Black Ops Cold War update targets four different OP weapons for Warzone‘s Season 1. After the merge between Black Ops Cold War and Warzone for the recent season, a few weapons proved to be a little too effective. We’re talking about none other than the DMR, Type 63, Dual Diamattis, and of course, the Mac-10.

Warzone’s DMR, Dual Pistols, Type 63, and Mac-10 Nerfs

The DMR, Dual Pistols, Type 63, and Mac-10 all received the following nerfs:

  • DMR 14: Reduced headshot damage, increased recoil
  • Type 63: Reduced headshot damage, increased recoil
  • Mac-10: Decreased headshot multiplier
  • Dual Pistols: Increased hip-fire spread, decreased damage range

Previously, both the DMR 14 and Type 63 were two-shot headshot weapons capable of dropping anyone in Warzone. Additionally, the Battle Pass Mac-10 weapon proved to be the most OP SMG in the game, with its insane rate of fire and effective damage range. Lastly, the akimbo Diamattis got hit as well, since players were using them to one-shot hip-fire anyone from mid to close range.

It’s been a rough past few weeks for Warzone players. There was a guarantee that every encounter would be against an enemy with one of the weapons listed above. Thankfully, this new nerf will change up the meta for Season 1. Which weapons will reign supreme now? It’s anyone’s guess.

The update rolled out around 11:15 AM EST. Black Ops Cold War and Warzone are available on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows.
