Numerous levels in this 2D game will test your skills as a small mobile skeleton whose scythe has an array of melee and ranged attacks. The biggest challenges would of course be the bosses and this game has an abundance of them. Hop on to see how to beat every one of them.

Killing all Bosses in Have a Nice Death

There will be numerous bosses in this game and you will face them all in a classic 2D experience, where you get a limited area through which you can move and jump. Some of these bosses aren’t part of the main storyline and will be hidden but we will make sure to point to the location of each boss.

Thanager Floor 1

Will Hung

Will Hung will be the first boss you’ll encounter. It’s basically a guy hanging by a big rope and this mutant character will attack you mainly with a rope punch attack and a mighty attack that will have him throw rope all across the map. This strong attack can be anticipated as Will Hung will put his rope in the ground before he performs it. All you need to do then is just make sure you are not hit by it. Don’t attempt to attack him at that time.

Leon Clean

Lean Clean is a skeleton cleaner with a vacuum that never leaves his side. He will jump with it, try to hit you with it, and even try to suck you in. Luckily he doesn’t have a lot of HP so you should be able to take him down easily. However, watch out for the backward flip that he performs, whenever he jumps with his vacuum.

Sorrow Floor 1

Brad

Brad is the head of security at Death Inc. and an opponent that is looking forward to fighting you. Brad has small pair of wings which allow him to fly around. He has multiple powerful charge attacks that you need to pay attention to, but he does lift his hands for a second before performing them so they should be easily dodgeable. In addition, he has a special attack where he flies around spinning and dropping boulders on you. Focus on avoiding those boulders and not attacking him at that moment.

Thanager Floor 2

Slyma

Slyma is a spider-like barrel of nuclear waste. The main problem with this boss is that he will be climbing around on the metal fence while placing radioactive spider nets. These will be dropping slowly but will linger in the battle arena so you need to watch out for them. Its other attacks aren’t as dangerous and you can simply jump around him and dodge them while dealing blows. If you do happen to be split up by the radioactive nets, try and use some of your ranged attacks to damage him.

X4-H

X4-H can best be described as a big black ball of metal trash. Like any ball, he will roll around trying to hit you. When he does that you just need to work on timing and move toward him when he is in the air to avoid the jump attack. Sometimes he will perform his sneaky attack where he becomes flat like a pancake and starts slithering around. In those moments you need to jump as much as you can to avoid him touching you. He has quite a bit of health so if you don’t perform any special attacks on him it can take quite a while to kill him.

Richard John Barron

Richard John Barron is an old office guy that is latched to the right part of the map as soon as you encounter him. Although he himself won’t move a lot, he will be using some surprisingly fast dashes forward and extended foot attacks coming from all directions. However, he will raise his hands above his head every time he wants to use this sudden foot attack so just focus on dodging when you see that. Richard John Baron is an easy target for your ranged weapons so try and rain him down with those.

Sorrow Floor 2

Mr. Gordon Grimes

Gordon Grimes is a slow-moving liquid giant that has some powerful melee attacks. You can approach him and attack him with all you got but as soon as you see his fist clenching and his arm moving backward, get the hell out so you don’t get punched in the face. Another thing you should pay attention to is his sudden disappearance. Most often when he disappears, he reappears on the opposite side of the arena. So, just jump away from that position.

Thanager Floor 3

Candice

Candice is your typical cupcake armed with a lollipop. Well, not really typical since most cupcakes aren’t trying to kill you, but you get the idea. She is more dangerous than she looks due to her swift blink moves and sudden extended lollipop attacks. You really need to be on your toes when fighting this one as she can melt your HP pool like caramel. The best strategy here would be to wait out her blink attacks since they usually come in a burst, and attack her once you know she’s done blinking.

Pierce Gorske

Gorske is a black dangerous … something. This oddly-looking creature moves like a samurai, and just like a samurai would like to slice you in two. He will dash, spin and jump around with his lightsabers trying to kill you. When we think about it more carefully, fighting him looks a lot like fighting another Death. His size, mobility, and moves remind us a lot of those that Death can perform. All in all, keep your distance from him and try to either hit him from the back once he has (unsuccessfully) performed one of his moves and/or hit him with your best-ranged attacks.

Sorrow Floor 3

Waldo

Mech spider boy has an array of attacks that cover a good portion of the arena so dodging him will be tricky and you will probably have to take some hits fighting him. He will move back and forth from the floor to the ceiling and will transform once you drop his HP below half. From a spider mode, he will become an angry little boy with a chainsaw that again sends out attacks that cover a lot of ground. Your best chance of dodging these chainsaw attacks is to jump in the air and do a dash forward through them. That way you won’t take any damage.

Thanager Floor 4

Denzel “King” Dengue

Denzel King Dengue is a giant fat mosquito that will fly around a lot and perform multiple stinging attacks. These attacks can at first seem naive and easy to dodge but will soon show you that once he dashes out he can come at you from any direction. Just wait for him to finish his special attacks, and once you see him levitating above you release all you got on him.

Sorrow Floor 4

Mr. Hector Krank

Krank is a crab with an unusually powerful right claw which will be the primary source of his damage. Since he always has that claw placed in front of him, the smartest thing to do here would be to always go behind his back and lash out with your melee attacks that way. He is really slow-moving and won’t have any quick and sudden disappearance/appearance tricks up his sleeve.

Thanager Floor 5

Lambert Heisenberg

That’s right, you get to fight a chemist called Heisenberg. Unlike Walter White, this one will be wrapped into a straitjacket and will perform his attacks with his legs. He is pretty quick though so you should be on the lookout. His main attack involves him jumping in the air and moving his legs quickly. However, he doesn’t jump too high so you can just jump over him whenever he does this and you will be fine.

Sorrow Floor 5

Maxxx

Maxxx is a guy or a creature, we’re not sure yet. He first appears as a regular guy but then starts transforming into a lot of creepy creatures with different attacks so it feels like you’re fighting three enemies at once. This shapeshifter will mainly target you with ranged attacks such as bolts of lightning and flying claws. You can either wait for him to transform back to his human body and come down to attack him melee or you can shoot at him with any ranged attack while he is transformed and attacking from the ceiling. When his HP drops he will perform special attacks where he is sucking you in or blowing you out and here you need to walk in the opposite direction of his force so you are not drawn into one of his attacks.

Thanager Floor 6

Camille Flage

Camille Flage may look like a frightened girl but she is very swift and deadly with her frog-like attacks. Whenever you see her on all fours expect that she will jump at you. If you manage to land a couple of great combos on her she can be killed quickly but that’s a big if.

Sorrow Floor 6

Major Warren Pliskhan

Major Pliskhan is your typical military type. He will jump around while riding on a rocket, use rocket launchers to try and hit you and make it rain with dozens of bombs. Dodge his jumping rocket attacks and don’t try to hit him, and when he starts firing his rocket launcher he is fully committed to shooting in the same direction so go behind his back and use your strongest attacks. He has an enormous health pool so be ready for a lengthy battle.

Thanager Floor 7

Horace Sinistrocirrus

Horace Sinistrocirrus is a black cloud that will be flying the whole time and trying to hit you with a rain of lightning bolts and fist slams. The good thing is that you can outrun these attacks and that Horace doesn’t really have too much HP. If you go for one of your special attacks on him, you should take out most of his HP.

Sorrow Floor 7

Ms. Catherine Imamura

Ms. Imamura is a water lady that is pretty mobile and powerful. She has the ability to summon tidal waves that take a big part of the arena, narrowing down your maneuver space. Wait for her to perform any of her special attacks and approach her then for a good melee combo. It might not always work since she has a lot of attacks and moves up her sleeve, but even getting a few hits on her would be worth it. As she loses HP she will start to use even stronger attacks such as more tidal waves and even duplicate herself in order to attack you. Be patient with her as she has a lot of HP and you will need to dodge many attacks before you get those openings to strike her.
