Playing Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will immerse players in a mythical world created by Team Ninja which involves tons of legendary creatures and is reminiscent of the other Romance of the Three Kingdoms games. In fact, there are plenty of things that players will recognize if they are veterans of the other games, including some of the bosses that they will have to take on throughout their journey. This includes Lu Bu, who will be an obstacle you’ll need to overcome in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, as well as his infamous mount Red Hare. In this guide we cover how to defeat him in battle when playing this new Team Ninja RPG title.

How Do You Defeat Lu Bu in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty?
Players will be glad to know that Lu Bu is – subjectively – easier to beat than the most recent two bosses you will face in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty before him. In order to defeat Lu Bu in this game, you will need to deal with him while he’s on his mount first. This involves dodging both his regular melee attack, as well as a ranged attack where he will attempt to damage you from afar. You can also tell when he is about to slash at you as this is telegraphed pretty clearly, especially when he runs up and raises his weapon menacingly.
The arrows that he shoots at you can be ignored as they are pretty ineffectual, but make sure to dodge his critical blows which can be avoided by watching for when he jumps in the air or begins to charge straight at you. In order to deflect his attacks, parry Lu Bu when he is about to land on the ground again after jumping, and try parrying when he starts moving towards you in regards to his charge critical attack. To knock Lu Bu off of his horse, parry a bunch of his attacks and wait until his red spirit meter is filled. Once this is done, attack him successfully one more time and then he’ll be knocked off his horse.
How Do You Beat Him on the Ground?
You will need to defeat Lu Bu on the ground after you’ve knocked him off his high horse…literally! Try to get in quick attacks here and there every time he takes a pause from striking at you. This can be helped by having a weapon with a fast attack speed. Be sure to parry every so often so that your spirit does not decrease too much and can remain at a decent level throughout the fight. You will want to be careful of the arena’s walls in this battle, because the camera can clip through them or give you a poor angle which may force you to take a hit or two as you try to readjust.
Avoid his critical blows and wait until he calls for his mount again, after which you will want to repeat the first phase that we discussed above. Make sure that you don’t get hit by his fiery weapon or any fire arrows if he does decide to set his weapon aflame, because this can cause you to burn too! Use your spirit attack to whittle down his health as he rides his horse for the second time, until his health is down to halfway.
At this point he gets one last new critical attack where he will glow and then spin as he attacks you. Then Lu Bu attempts to surprise you with a sneaky critical blow, so don’t relax after blocking the spin! Be sure to keep these attacks in mind and fight on until he’s defeated. Well done, warrior!
