How to Enter the Ruins in Hogwarts Legacy

Playing Hogwarts Legacy is like reliving your favorite childhood movies and books in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World. Set in and around the famous Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, this new game developed by Avalanche Software is already surpassing expectations. Taking place in the nineteenth century, Hogwarts Legacy allows itself room to breathe from the events surrounding Harry Potter and He Who Must Not Be Named, giving players a fresh new look on the Potter universe.

There are many new locations that players are able to visit, as well as tons of quests and missions within the game to keep you occupied if you need a break from the main storyline. One of these locations are the Ruins, which you will need to enter to complete a quest with your friend Poppy. There is a puzzle that bars you from entering the Ruins, but in this guide we cover how to get past it in Hogwarts Legacy!

How Do You Get Into the Ruins?

To make it past this puzzle and reach the Ruins for your quest with Poppy, you need to do a couple of things first. The puzzle itself involves two towers which are placed on a circle, and there is also a door that has some arcane symbols on it as well. Your goal in this challenge is quite simple, but it can be difficult for those who do not have any context or little experience with gaming puzzles.

You must place the inner rim tower, so named because it is located on the inside of the circle, next to the Centaur. Carry it over to there is a hook symbol and two circles. That is where the inner tower is meant to be left. For the outer tower, you want to place it between the symbol that resembles the letter V, and the key-like symbol that is next to it. After you have done this correctly, the door will open and you can continue onwards on your quest from Poppy. Congratulations, and happy questing!
