The Butterfly Door Puzzle is part of The Helm of Urtkot quest in Hogwarts Legacy. To start, you will need to make your way to The Collector’s Cave, where you will have to complete three Butterfly Door Puzzles, each more complex than the first. To open each Door, you will need to place three Butterflies on the Door to open it.

First Butterfly Door

The first Butterfly Door only requires one Butterfly. To open this Door, turn left, and you will see a Moth flickering on top of a faint light totem. Use the Lumos spell to guide the Moth to your wand; from here, you can go back to the Door and place the Moth on it. After that, the Door will open to the next section of the tomb.

Second Butterfly Door

The second Butterfly Door will require you to collect all three Moths. You can find two Moths in the round chamber; in addition, you will also find a Butterfly apparatus located in the middle of the room. Now, you can bring one Moth to the Butterfly Door, and the second you must place on the Butterfly apparatus.

To activate it, use the Depulso spell to spin the Butterfly apparatus. You will then see a ledge move up; get on the ledge and use the Depulso spell until you can reach the final Moth. Now all you need to do is use Lumos to bring all three Moths to the Butterfly Door.

Third Butterfly Door

The final Butterfly Door in Hogwarts Legacy will have four Moths in the chamber; two on the top ledge where the Door is located and two at the bottom. Use one Moth to activate the Butterfly apparatus, and the other Moth you will place on the Butterfly totem; you can find it on the ground level, left-hand side near the Butterfly Door.

After this, you can now use your Depulso spell to activate the moving ledge, jump on and collect the two Moths. Once you’ve placed both Moths on the Butterfly Door, activate the Butterfly apparatus on the ground floor to move the final Moth up. Finally, use Lumos to attach the Moth to your wand, and all you need to do from here is place the Moth on the Butterfly Door.
