Chained Echoes Crystal Guide – How It Works

A crystal guide for very valuable player.

Being able to interact with your weapons and armor, adding certain effects through magic or smithing is something I really look forward to in RPGs. This is a mechanica that brings more power to the player and adds another layer of complexity to a game that could benefit from another variable. This is the case of crystals in Chained Echoes, which, if used wisely, could signify the success of your endeavours. Follow the below Chained Echoes crystal guide for you to know all things crystals in this game.

Chained Echoes Crystal Guide

By adding passive skills that will grant you certain boosts to your abilities, the use of crystals will be a mechanic that you could really use to be victorious in your journey in Chained Echoes. You will be able to allocate crystals to your weapons and armor, making it possible for a battle that was pretty much unwinnable into a walk in the park. However, the world of crystals can be a bit overwhelming. Therefore, here is our Chained Echoes crystal guide, so you can be sure of what you are equipping and even how to fuse crystals to make the best ones in the game.

Crystal Types

  • Defensive: just like the name says, it will grant great passive skills, enhancing defense through properties, attributes, status effects and resistance boosts.
  • Offensive: this crystal type will grant buffs to magical and physical attacks by boosting properties, power, and status effects.
  • Status: grants passive skills which will boost a specific stat or property by using equipment with this crystal equipped.
  • Utility: again, this crystal will grant passive skills which will vary greatly in its effects.

Crystal Variations

  • Natural
  • Artificial: marked with a (*) symbol. When fusing crystals, all the crystals that result from that fusion will be artificial.

Other Crystal Stats

  • Purity: quite simple, the higher the purity, you will be able to fuse the crystal with better ones.
  • Size: size varies from a size 1 to 3. You will want the smallest crystals since the purity will be higher, and it can be slotted and fused easier.
  • Rank: ranks go from I to X, being X the max rank a crystal can have. Passive skills will be better depending on the rank of the crystal. Starting at rank III: skill level 1; from rank V: skill level 2; and, at level X: skill level 3.

Fusing Crystals

As long as two crystals share the same passive skill, you will be able to fuse them into a new one. You need to choose a base crystal and a fuse crystal with a purity level of above 0. Only pure crystals can be used as fuse crystals, while artificial crystals can only be used as base crystals. As a result from the fusion, the resulting crystal will have the following stats:

  • It will have a purity level of the base crystal, minus 1.
  • The resulting rank will be the sum of both crystal ranks.
  • The resulting crystal size will be the average between the base and fuse crystal.
  • It will become an artificial crystal.
