MOB GAMES Poppy Playtime universe is back in full forth. With its newest spin-off release of the Multiplayer Horror Game titled PROJECT: PLAYTIME. This early access Horror Game sees the blend of the Poppy Playtime art and level design with the Dead by Daylight gameplay mechanics. With players having the ability to either play as the Poppy Playtime monsters or as Specialists. The task at hand in the current Game Modes is for the Specialists to build a giant toy in the Playtime factory whilst being hunted by a monster. Build the toy with its parts won by solving puzzles. Once built, evade the monster and get to the train. Here are all available monsters which you can play as in PROJECT: PLAYTIME.
All Playable Monsters in PROJECT: PLAYTIME
PROJECT: PLAYTIME sees the return of our favourite Poppy Playtime monsters. Alongside a new monster for players to experience. First seen in the opening cutscene of PROJECT: PLAYTIME, a new jack-in-a-box style creature with limbs appearing outside of the toy box and a strange crocodile like face emerging from the top. These are all the current available PROJECT: PLAYTIME monsters in the Multiplayer 6v1 Horror Game.
Huggy Wuggy
Of course, it would not be a MOBS GAME if it was not for the Poppy Playtime mascot himself, Huggy Wuggy. With long limbs and that horrendous smile, the monsters stalks you from afar awaiting for you to get distracted on solving puzzles. Lurking in the shadows with the ability to temporarily dash at you with great speed. Players need to remain always on guard against Huggy Wuggy. This monster must get close to take you down. With brute force, Huggy Wuggy will charge at whoever is within his line of sight. This monster has the ability to send out Mini Huggys to alert him on any Specialist movement on the map. Keep an eye out for all forms of Huggy Wuggy.
Mommy Long Legs
Mommy is back and she is out to punish her children. Her long noodle-like arms reach out for her prey. With arms flying around as she storms towards you and your teammates. Mommy Long Legs has the ability to climb walls and the ceiling, surprising Specialists from all angles. Play as a monster who truly lurks in the shadows. Nowhere is safe. With the ability to see through walls temporarily, every Specialist attempting to solve puzzles will be spotted by this monster. Players should always be on the move when against Mommy Long Legs. Be patient in solving puzzles and do not get too distracted. Because she will pounce when you are not watching.
Boxy Boo
Boxy Boo is the latest addition in the Poppy Playtime universe. His body emerges from a jack-in-a-box style appearance, following Specialists to come in close. In the Game Mode however, Boxy Boo is always on the hunt. His special abilities allow him to jump higher than Mommy Long Legs and Huggy Wuggy. This monster should be picked for players who like to play aggressive and fast. You can hide within its music box body to surprise the Specialists as they try to complete puzzles. Similar to the other monsters, its long arms can grab Specialists. Keep as far away as you can from this camouflaged beast.
How to Play as the Monsters
PROJECT: PLAYTIME introduces players to a Sabotage mechanic. Through collecting Toy Tickets and using them as currency, players can buy Sabotages. These are abilities which you can purchase to trick, halt and increase your chances of catching all Specialists. As you play as the monster of your pick, depending on who is your favourite or their unique monstrous abilities. You will see on screen when puzzles have been solved or if someone is attempting to beat a puzzle. As you chase and hunt, you must get close enough to the Specialists to get your attacks in.
Sabotages range from boobytraps which you can lay down to trap and halt the movements of the specialists. Monsters can break the GrabPack hands, cause lockdowns and break down the puzzles temporarily. All these limit the chances of the Specialists escaping. Capturing the Specialists is not enough. You must take down all 6 Specialists before they piece together the toy and board the train.
The train can be boarded from all open carriages, therefore, standing in one spot beside the train in the last moment of the game will not work. Play strategic in using your Sabotages and make sure that there is not 6 Specialists in the end should they craft the giant toy.
How to Beat the Monsters
When playing as the Specialists, you must play as a team. When any of your teammates go down, you can either revive them as they fall to the ground or revive them from the chutes where the monster will have placed them. If you were to be taken by the monster, you will have to survive inside the belly of the chutes. Here, small forms of Huggy Wuggy slowly close in you from the holes in the wall surrounding you. If you are on your own in this small room for longer than a minute, you likely will not survive. Playing with friends here is key.
However, for those up above, it is crucial to save those who have been captured. Increase your chances of survival by keeping your teammates alive. If they are captured, you should wait until the monster leaves the chute and sneak towards the chute. You can revive your teammate from the chute. Should your teammate fall but not be picked up by the monster, use your teammates to distract the monster whilst you revive them. You will see their character model on the ground and a circular bar, indicating the length of time it takes to revive.
PROJECT: PLAYTIME is now available to play for free on Steam.
