Can you save humanity from the brink of damnation? Move between solar systems, mine the necessary resources needed that you find in orbit. Send out Cargo and Mining Ships but take care of your crewmates on board of those vessels. The vast, unknown is calling out to you, do whatever you can to survive. Build the Tiqqun civilization, keep those workers happy and find a new habitable planet to call home. This is our guide on where to get resources in the new strategy game, IXION.
How to View Resources in IXION
Your resources can be seen throughout each Sector on the Station. For easy visibility, you should enable the ‘Resources HUD‘. This is located on the top bar of the screen, on the first icon. The icon looks like 3 cubes with another cube stacked on top of the 3. Hover over the icon and click to toggle the HUD. This will show you the number of resources each section of the Sector holds.
For further information, you can enter the ‘Resource Management‘ screen. This is found on the bar at the bottom of the screen. This icon is the same as the Resources HUD icon. Click this to open a pop-up window that shows you the amount of each resource you have in each Sector. Here you can transfer resources from one sector to another.

Where to find Resources in IXION
Resources can be found in orbit. Through space exploration, resources can be mined from other planets. It is useful to note specifically what planets are mineable. Refer to the icons seen on each planet, moon or cluster of asteroids to see what you can use to mine the resources. There are two icons that tell us there are resources available for mining. These are:
- Drill icon – A mining ship is required to mine the materials.
- Cubes icon (Resource HUD icon) – Requires a cargo ship to pick up the materials.
Resource Nodes are available in game, both for mining ships and cargo ships. There are Priority sliders on each planet/moon/asteroid. Turn these on so that your ships do not wander too far away from the Station. Hover over the asteroid to turn select whether you want this asteroid’s materials prioritised or avoided. By selecting Avoid (on the top left of the asteroid pop-up screen), your ships will not go to mine these. You can set the ships to go directly to the planet/asteroids as a priority to bring back its mineable materials.
Mining and Cargo Ships
Mining Ships cannot bring back the resources that have been mined. To bring these back, you must use the Cargo Ships. In the Fleet Management, set the materials you want prioritised by both the Mining and Cargo Ships by filling in the material space via clicking on their corresponding box. You can set these to – High, Medium or Low Priority. This helps you mine the specific resources you need at one time.
To use the materials you mined in the solar system, refer to the Docking Bay. These hold 300 items inside. There are separate from your Resource HUD. Therefore, to use them you must send the resources into a Stockpile.
Using the Tiqqun in Orbit
Using the Avoid function will also help you delegate where your crewmembers go on both the cargo and mining ships. This can save their lives against the everchanging Space Weather, which can kill your crew and destroy ships. Move the Tiqqun Station to areas in orbit closer to that of the sectors that you are mining. That way, the mining and cargo ships are closer to home.
Refer to the Power section in the Tiqqun Station, showing you each Sectors Battery Supply for moving the Station to another planet. This is important to refer to should you want to reposition the Tiqqun in orbit. The selected planet you wish to move to will tell you how many cycles are needed for the move. Moving the Tiqqun could result in blackouts so make sure that you check how much power you have in each Sector of the Station.
That is how to mine and find resources in IXION. Get out there, Administrator and good luck.
