If you’re anything like me, then you enjoy a good Battle Royale game most of the time when you sit down to play with friends. But while there are quite a few out there, many can just be a bit too lackluster to even care about. The good thing is that with so many BR games releasing there are sure to be some true gems. And 2022 had a great year for Battle Royale games, so let’s check out our top 10 best Battle Royale games of 2020.
Top 10 Best Battle Royale Games of 2022
Fortnite
Starting out our list is by far, one of the largest BR titles on this list, Fortnite. It had a fantastic year because of the great mechanics that Epic Games added to it, along with some epic crossover skins. Though the Chapter 3 map was a bit lackluster, it saved itself with the brand-new Chapter 4 map which rocks! Let’s not forget the beautiful thing that is the No Builds mode. Thank the heavens!
Warzone 2.0 (Honorable Mention: Warzone)
If you’re a Call of Duty player, then 2022 was kind of a rollercoaster ride. The year started out with the original Warzone’s lackluster Caldera map, but the game redeemed itself with the great Fortune’s Keep map later in the year. Then came the upgrade which is Warzone 2.0. With just about everything being reworked, this is the best of the two to go with now that the original only has the Caldera map to play in.
Apex Legends
Apex Legends never seems to have any lulls, as there’s literally always a new reason to play. This year saw some extremely cool Stories from the Outlands videos. In-game though, players got some great new characters, as well as more LGBTQIA+ representation in characters such as Seer and Catalyst. This game just doesn’t stop being great.

PUBG
Though this is quite possibly one of those old BR titles that’s at the back of most people’s minds, PUBG had a fantastic year. The gameplay is still addictive and the game continues to evolve, though at a slower pace than others. Its newest map, Deston is the perfect map that fans have wanted, giving this title a bit of a comeback.
Rumbleverse
A new player to the seen, Rumbleverse is a great shake-up to the BR genre as players can take a break from the shoot shooty bang bang, and opt for a more primitive way of getting rid of enemies; by wrestling them. It’s a cute and cartoony title that deserves more love than it gets.
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodhunt
Though its learning curve is pretty steep, Bloodhunt is by far the coolest BR game of 2022. Its unique spin on the BR formula is commendable and the gameplay just flows so well, feeling as if Infamous were to be given the BR treatment. Now that’s something I’d pay good money for.
Naraka: Bladepoint
Though it doesn’t get much time in the spotlight, Naraka: Bladepoint’s release on Xbox consoles this year was a great addition to the Game Pass collection, as it’s a gorgeous and exciting title that’s action moments work extremely well in the BR format. It’s criminally underrated.
Fall Guys
I personally consider Fall Guys a BR title, and quite possibly the best because of how much fun it is. Though you may not think this childish-looking game can be even more anxiety-inducing than Warzone, it actually is. The crossover game that it’s serving is also incredibly impressive too.
Arkanoid Eternal Battle
I’m sure that this title flew under most folk’s radar. But the beautiful thing about Arkanoid Eternal Battle is that its BR elements don’t intrude on the pure Arkanoid gameplay that arcade enthusiasts know and love, making it the perfect representation of how arcade games should be executed in a year like 2022.
Super Animal Royale
Last but certainly not least is a guilty pleasure of mine. Though it’s a pretty difficult BR title to jump into, SAR is such a fun game because of its gorgeous color palette and wacky weapons to use.
