How to Get Herba Mystica

Herba Mystica is obtained in the post-game of Scarlet and Violet through the battling and defeating of 5- and 6-Star Raids. The steps to gain access to these Raids are:

  • Obtain 18 Badges (complete Victory Road, Path of Legends and Starfall Street).
  • Beat the Area Zero Final Boss in Scarlet and Violet.
  • After watching the credits, revisit and defeat the Gym Leaders of Paldea.
  • Win the Academy Ace Tournament.
  • This gives you access to 5-Star Raids, beat 15 5-Star Raids to unlock 6-Star Raids.

Now that 6-Star Raids are unlocked, players may increase their chances of obtaining Herba Mystica. These Herbs are dropped items that are rare to find. You will not know if you have gained an Herb until defeating the Raid Pokémon. Therefore, there are a few tips we have for those searching for Herba Mystica. The first is to target 5-Star Raids, although these have lower odds of obtaining Herba Mystica (24%), they are much easier to beat than 6-Star Raids. That is if you are just getting started on Raid battling and have not developed a strong Pokémon team for Tera Raids yet.

The odds of obtaining Herba Mystica are only 28% in 6-Star Raids. This small increase is not enough to warrant you focussing on completing these Raids unless you have run out of 5-Star Raids for the day. Depending on which Grass Shiny Sandwich Recipe you go for, the search for Herba Mystica may prove harder than others. This is why we recommend the Intermediate recipe so that players can pick up any Herb to accompany the Salty Herba Mystica. There is a specific set of Tera Raid Pokémon which drop the Herba Mystica. These are:

Salty Herba Mystica Raid Pokémon

  • Amoonguss
  • Avalugg
  • Blissey
  • Cetitan
  • Corviknight
  • Dondozo
  • Garganacl
  • Hippowdon
  • Orthworm

Sweet Herba Mystica Raid Pokémon

  • Amoonguss
  • Blissey
  • Cetitan
  • Dondozo
  • Goodra
  • Slowking
  • Tinkaton

Spicy Herba Mystica Raid Pokémon

  • Amoonguss
  • Annihilape
  • Blissey
  • Breloom
  • Bombirdier
  • Baxcalibur
  • Cetitan
  • Ceruledge
  • Dragonite
  • Dondozo
  • Garchomp
  • Gallade
  • Gyarados
  • Kingambit
  • Mabostiff
  • Revavroom
  • Scizor
  • Salamence
  • Staraptor
  • Tauros
  • Tyranitar

Sour Herba Mystica Raid Pokémon

  • Amoonguss
  • Armarouge
  • Blissey
  • Clawitzer
  • Cetitan
  • Dondozo
  • Glimmora
  • Gardevoir
  • Gengar
  • Magnezone
  • Volcarona

As the Herba Mystica is rare with very small chances of obtaining in natural circumstances, players should target an even smaller set of Tera Pokémon which have higher odds of dropping the Herbs. You can increase your chances to 76% for 5-Star and 83% in 6-Star. The Pokémon with these high odds that you should target are:

5-Star Raid Pokémon

  • Gengar
  • Blissey
  • Glalie
  • Drifblim
  • Amoongus
  • Eelektross
  • Dondozo
  • Palafin
  • Cetitan

6-Star Raid Pokémon

  • Blissey
  • Amoongus
  • Vaporeon
  • Dondozo
  • Farigiraf
  • Cetitan

Through the targeting of these Pokémon, obtaining Herba Mystica is far greater than going into the Raids blind. Whilst the process is longer through searching for these specific higher odd 5- and 6-Star Pokémon, it is a much rewarding process through obtaining the Herbs to complete the Grass Shiny Sandwich. You must remain patient and if you temporarily run out of the high odd Tera Pokémon to battle, switch to the other Pokémon listed above to continue the Herba Mystica search. That is how to make the Grass Shiny Sandwich in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Looking for other Shiny Pokémon-Types?
