Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have numerous weather patterns that fluctuate at random, just like the weather in the real world. One type of weather that can be particularly advantageous in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is rain, due to its ability to power up certain Water-type moves and make certain species of Pokémon evolve. Keep reading to find out if you can tell when it’s about to rain in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet!
When Does it Rain in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?
Some Pokémon, like Sliggoo, require rainy weather to evolve, so knowing when it’s about to rain in the game definitely has its advantages. Unfortunately, it is currently impossible to be able to tell when it will rain in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Additionally, you are not able to change the weather in the game at will, so there is no way to make it rain by force, either (although it would be really cool if you could).
Although you are often able to tell when it will rain in the real world (weather reports, cloudy skies, etc.), there is no way to be able to tell when it will rain in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. With all the new realistic features that Gen 9 introduced to the franchise (weather included), you’d think they would have added a Weather Report feature, or at least something similar.

Although you’ll never be able to tell quite when it will rain in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, it does rain pretty frequently in most areas of the game. If you explore any area long enough, it will likely start to rain without any intervention on your part; just be sure to avoid in-game deserts, as they don’t get much rain at all.
