Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher is a unique entry in the Monster Rancher series. With this new game, the monsters and kaiju from Ultra can be acquired by players to train and fight. Battles can be fought with a CPU or even against other players to see who is the better monster rancher. Though if a battle gets too hot, expect Ultraman to intervene. With over two hundred kaiju to train and raise, it can be difficult for players new to the series to level up quickly. This is important, as this leads to arguably the most fun of the game, fighting other players. Of course there are the traditional ways of leveling up via training, but we’re focusing on faster methods. Luckily, Koei Tecmo introduces new ways to do just that in Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher.
Feed your Kaiju cookies
It’s said that cookies are made with love, the same can be said for cookies in Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher. With the addition of random stats that benefit your monsters in battle. From keeping one HP when a monster’s health is drained to zero, to boosting tech and poison damage. These baked goods can turn additionally provide extra stats to your monster. As good as this system is there are some drawbacks.
Getting cookies from the Inheritance Cookie shop costs gold, no funds, and no baked goods for your kaiju. Additionally, there is no guaranteed way to get the perks you want for your kaiju. It’s up to RNG, luck, and your gold reserves to determine if you get what you want. Though using compatible NFC cards, cookies can be generated for free, but they are on cooldown and again give random perks.
When getting a new monster, they have only one cookie slot, which is already filled in. However the more years you train, the more slots they unlock, up to a maximum of four. With the right cookie perks, monsters can catch opponents completely by surprise and change the way a battle is fought.
On use, the cookie disappears from inventory and cannot be used again. To reset cookie slots, players need the Reset Powder Item.
Combine your Kaiju
Another new addition coming with Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher is the ability to combine and fuse monsters together. Doing so will boost the new monster’s stats across the board, though not without cost. Stat distribution is not guaranteed and can go against what you planned. Additionally, the new monster’s rage will go up, making them harder to control in certain situations without proper training. It’s a risky tradeoff, but for players looking for a stronger monster, they will have to decide if the risk is worth the reward.
